French Open Tennis 2017 – Day 11 Betting Preview

After a truncated day in the French Open on Tuesday we are set for a much busier Wednesday than we expected at Roland Garros but by the end of it we will know the four players remaining in both singles draws heading into the remainder of the competition.

Day 10 Recap

Rain certainly won the day on Tuesday with only the two women’s quarter finals being able to be started and completed. We went 1-1 with our bets as Jelena Ostapenko took care of Caroline Wozniacki but we finished a game short in the other match as Timea Bacsinszky came past Kristina Mladenovic a touch too easily for our liking.

Philippe Chatrier Court

Given the rain of Tuesday we open up earlier on Wednesday with Pablo Carreno Busta taking on Rafael Nadal and then comes the clash of the week in the women’s draw when Elina Svitolina and Simona Halep meet for a place in the last four. Andy Murray then takes on Kei Nishikori to finish off what looks a blinding day on the main court.

Suzanne Lenglen Court

The action isn’t too shabby on Lenglen either. Defending men’s champion Novak Djokovic kicks things off against Dominic Thiem before the last remaining French player Caroline Garcia goes up against Karolina Pliskova. Stan Wawrinka and Marin Cilic finish things up for the second court.

Betting

We previewed the opening two matches of the day in the Day 10 preview so we won’t go over old ground. Instead I’ll highlight the three bets I like on Wednesday. In the men’s draw I think Stan Wawrinka will be too good for Marin Cilic. Credit to Cilic for making it this far but he is yet to face a seed and it goes without saying this will be his toughest test. Wawrinka is starting to look better and better the longer the week goes on so I fancy he’ll cover a 3.5 game handicap.

I believe the two women’s matches are going to be close affairs. Elina Svitolina and Simona Halep is a match which has classic stamped all over it while I don’t see Caroline Garcia surrendering easily against Karolina Pliskova. All four meetings between those two have been very tight so this should be no different while the other match could easily be the final. They played a three set final in Rome recently and this has three sets all over it. I’ll take the overs for the game line on both.
