The first round of the French Open concludes around the grounds of Roland Garros in Paris on Tuesday on a day where the doubles action comes along for the first time in the second Grand Slam of the year as well.
We have seen most of the main challengers in the singles draw compete in the opening round already but we still have the likes of Coco Gauff, Alexander Zverev, Mirra Andreeva and Novak Djokovic have been saved for Tuesday.
Philippe Chatrier Court
As has been the case so far this week, two women’s matches will open up the schedule on the main court on Tuesday with the first one seeing the home player Varvara Gracheva looking to use the big crowd to her advantage when she faces Sofia Kenin. When they are one, the favourite for the title in the eyes of many takes to the court when Coco Gauff takes on the Australian player Olivia Gadecki. One men’s match rounds off the day session and it sees Novak Djokovic beginning his quest for Grand Slam number 25 when he takes on Mackenzie McDonald. The night session match on Tuesday will be an entertaining one for the crowd as their favourite, Gael Monfils, meets Hugo Dellien.
Suzanne Lenglen Court
The amazing teenage star Mirra Andreeva opens up the show on the second court on Tuesday when she takes on the Spanish challenger Cristina Bucsa before a really intriguing men’s match takes to the court when Alexander Zverev takes on the next gen star Learner Tien. Jessica Pegula headlines the third match on this court when the American number three seed faces Anca Todoni before the Indian Wells champion Jack Draper closes out the schedule on this court when he meets the Italian player Mattia Bellucci.

Simonne Mathieu Court
We have had two really good schedules over on the Simonne Mathieu Court this week and a third one comes along on Tuesday. It begins with the former US Open champion Daniil Medvedev taking on a Cam Norrie who is looking to arrest his slide down the rankings. When they are done Magdalena Frech looks to build on being seeded here for the first time when she faces Ons Jabeur before two French players battle it out in front of a home crowd when Corentin Moutet meets the qualifier Clement Tabur. The closer on this court sees Karolina Muchova facing Alicia Parks.
Best of the Rest
We have a really good bunch of matches on the outside courts on Tuesday so it will be well worth having the streams access on hand. The marquee match between Hubert Hurkacz and Joao Fonseca is one of the highlights around the grounds but other recognisable names on show include Alex de Minaur, Beatriz Haddad Maia, Jakub Mensik, Andrey Rublev, Elise Mertens, Anna Kalinskaya, Victoria Azarenka, Grigor Dimitrov, Maria Sakkari, Felix Auger-Aliassime and the former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova.
Men’s Betting
Tuesday is actually a day where there isn’t a huge amount that I fancy across either singles draw but I will take one in the men’s draw which comes in the match most people are looking forward to when Hubert Hurkacz takes on Joao Fonseca. There is no doubt that Fonseca is a superstar in the making but his form on the European clay courts this season hasn’t pulled up any trees and there is a more than fair chance that the Brazilian youngster will meet his match here.
Hurkacz has been in decent touch in the last couple of weeks. He had a good run in Rome earlier in the month and then made the final in Geneva just last weekend and had chances to see off Novak Djokovic in that final. He is hitting the ball very well and his power could well be a weapon on the outside courts which doesn’t bode well for Fonseca. When you look at the prices and then the respective form of the two men this one has to be priced up on reputation but I’m all about the form and experience and that is firmly with the Pole here.
