French Open Tennis 2025 – Day 9 Tips and Betting Preview

The quarter final line up will be confirmed at the French Open on Monday when the remaining round of 16 matches take place on the two show courts at Roland Garros as we head towards the business end of the second Grand Slam of the year.

We have the quarter finals secured in one half of the draw with some tasty matches to look forward to and some big names will be looking to book their spot in the last eight over the course of a magic looking Monday.

Philippe Chatrier Court

We get another really good schedule on the main court underway with the second seed Coco Gauff looking to make it back into the quarter final when she meets Ekaterina Alexandrova who has quietly made her way through the draw so far. The third seed follows the second seed onto the court when Jessica Pegula bids for a place in the quarter final when she takes on the French success story Lois Boisson for whom this is the biggest day in her career. The former champion Novak Djokovic rounds off the day session on Chatrier when he meets Cameron Norrie in a repeat of the Geneva semi-final from just prior to the tournament. The world number one Jannik Sinner is the star draw in the night session. The Italian faces Andrey Rublev who should be fresh after his walkover in the previous round.

Suzanne Lenglen Court

The schedule over on the Suzanne Lenglen court doesn’t look too shabby either and it begins with the teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva meeting the newly adopted Australian player Daria Kasatkina before the 2024 finalist Alexander Zverev looks to make it back into the last eight when he meets the Dutch ace Tallon Griekspoor. Two American players battle it out in the penultimate match of the day when the Australian Open champion Madison Keys meets her compatriot Hailey Baptiste before British interest will take over for the final match of the day when Jack Draper looks to book a spot in the last eight when he meets the enigmatic Alexander Bublik.

Betting

While it looks like a good day of tennis as far as the quality on show is concerned, it is a tougher one from a betting point of view because there are so many short favourites and it is hard to have much faith in many of the underdogs given the profile and the experience of those favourites. One match which might well be one that we can target is the one involving familiar foes Alexander Zverev and Tallon Griekspoor, who meet here for the second time in as many years.

They met in the third round here last year in a match which went the distance. In fact, four of their last five have gone the distance so there is the case for Griekspoor to be competitive right there but I don’t think the Dutchman wins this so I’m looking at the games market for this one instead. Incredibly, the 33.5 line is only 3/4 for the over and when you consider that in their last two meetings over three sets there has been 36 games in each, not to mention the 50 games they played here last year, that line and price looks very acceptable. Zverev was taken to a tiebreak by Flavio Cobolli in the previous round and Griekspoor has been taken to a tiebreak in his last two matches. These two have met six times since the beginning of 2024, played 18 sets and half of them have gone to a tiebreak, including three of the eight on clay. This line could be covered in three sets but given Griekspoor’s history of winning sets from Zverev we might well get a fourth which should be ample time for a cover.
