German Darts Championship 2025 – Last 16 Tips and Betting Preview

The final day of the German Darts Championship takes place out in Hildesheim as the last European Tour event of the season is played down from the last 16 to our champion by which time we will know the line up for the European Championship.

The last 16 takes place in the afternoon session while the remainder of the event will come along in the evening. Time restrictions will deny us the chance to preview the evening but both of our outright bets remain in so hopefully they can give us some interest. We’ll cover the last 16 here though.

First Four Matches

The opening match of the last day of the tournament has some excellent matches on the schedule and two of those get us going on Sunday. We begin with Gerwyn Price meeting Danny Noppert in a clash between two form horses before Jonny Clayton faces Gian van Veen in another really good looking contest. Nathan Aspinall is up in the third match of the session when he faces Steve Lennon and then we get to the halfway point of the afternoon with a clash of two Dutchmen when Jermaine Wattimena takes on his compatriot Wessel Nijman.

Later Four Matches

After a battle of the Dutchmen to take us to the halfway point, the second half of the afternoon begins with two Scottish players doing battle when Cameron Menzies plays Peter Wright. When they are done the German number one and last home representative in the tournament, Martin Schindler, meets Dirk van Duijvenbode before two men who could do with going very deep into the Sunday play meet in the penultimate game of the afternoon when Ricky Evans plays Dave Chisnall. The afternoon concludes with two unseeded players facing off when Ryan Joyce faces Krzysztof Ratajski.

Betting

Jermaine Wattimena looks to be running into a hot patch of form just in time for another tilt at the European Championship title next week. He won a Players Championship event earlier in the week and then made the semi-final of the other one and in the two matches he has played in this tournament he has taken care of Keane Barry and James Wade. It isn’t necessarily who he has taken down but how he has done it, with appealing averages of 105.61 and 107.47.

Those averages tell us that he is in good nick and I think he’ll be too good for Wessel Nijman and I’m happy to be on the European Championship finalist of last year at even money. Nijman is a good player in his own right but he can be culpable of missing doubles and against a bloke averaging the better part of 106 and 108 you just won’t get away with that. Wattimena is a streaky player who when he finds form can maintain it for a while and with the form he is in he looks a good bet here.
