German Darts Championship – Last 32 Matches Betting Preview

All of the qualifying matches for the German Darts Championship are out of the way now and we can get down to the main tournament beginning with the last 32 of the competition on what is going to be another busy Saturday on the European Tour circuit.

The best players in the world will be out to strut their stuff over two sessions of play in Hildesheim on Saturday with them each aiming to make it through to the last 16 of the tournament and beyond on Sunday.

Afternoon Matches

The action begins with a good looking match between Gerwyn Price and Dave Pallett. They are followed but Daryl Gurney and Ron Meulenkamp with Alan Norris playing Scott Naylor after that. The last game before the break sees Simon Whitlock taking on Justin Pipe.

After the interval Stephen Bunting will face Steve West before best friends Terry Jenkins and Andy Smith will meet for a place in the last 16. An all-European clash follows that when Benito van de Pas plays Cristo Reyes with Ian White and Kevin Painter bringing the session to a close.

Evening Matches

A star studded evening begins with Dave Chisnall facing Peter Hudson with Michael Smith and Mark Webster colliding after that. The third game of the night sees Joe Cullen meeting Robert Allenstein. Mensur Suljovic follows them when he takes on Darren Johnson.

It is big names all the way after that as Jelle Klaasen faces off against Rowby-John Rodriguez before Peter Wright plays Eddie Dootson and then Michael van Gerwen plays Robbie Green in the match of the round. The day of darts concludes with Kim Huybrechts going up against Ted Evetts.

Betting

I’m going to ease myself into this competition with just the one bet on the opening day. That comes in the form of Steve West who has to be overpriced to beat Stephen Bunting on the evidence of what we’ve seen from West in the last couple of weeks.

I like Stephen Bunting and really rate him but West has made the final and semi-final of tour events in the last three weeks and he has beaten Phil Taylor on the big stage. All of that is going to make West tough to beat even for a Bunting who is approaching his best again.

West beat his brother Tony in ruthless style on Friday winning 6-0 with a near 110 average overall and a first nine dart average of over 400! If he has anything like that form with him here he will look a massive price at 8/5.
