Global Super League T20 2025 – Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Dubai Capitals Tips and Betting Preview

The second half of the double header in the Global Super League T20 on Sunday is a huge one for the two teams involved as the hosts Guyana Amazon Warriors take on the Dubai Capitals with qualification potentially on the line for both teams.

Both these sides have played two matches in the tournament and have come away with a win and a loss and with there unlikely to be a future for a team who finishes 2-2 we are in must-win territory for both teams.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

The Guyana Amazon Warriors will probably be thinking that they should have two wins on the board from their opening two matches. They were well in control for a lot of the bowling innings in their first match against Rangpur Riders but let that one get away from them. To be fair to them, they dusted themselves down to demolish the Central Stags in their second match 48 hours later which was no easy thing given the short turnaround. Guyana have had a day to take stock of where they are and get ready to go again.

The good thing for the Amazon Warriors is that we haven’t really seen them fire with the bat yet. There is a question mark over their batting order given the form that Sherfane Rutherford and Shimron Hetmyer have shown in recent weeks but at some point the batting is going to click and when it does they are going to take someone for a lot of runs. Their attack is varied and they have a lot of bowling options which is never a bad thing.

Dubai Capitals

It looked like the Dubai Capitals had laid down a bit of a marker when they took care of the Central Stags in their opening game but as the tournament has gone on the strength of that form has reduced and now they are left having to prove themselves again. They have two tough assignments left in the group phase of the competition but if they win them both then there is still a good chance that they will be in the final which is what they came here for.

The Capitals have to dust themselves down after a bit of a beating by the Hobart Hurricanes in their last match but they have a team who suit the conditions and if certain star players stand up and are counted in this match then they could get what they want out of the game. The one thing the Capitals have to do is stay in the game. We’ve seen in the first two Guyana matches that they are not firing on all cylinders and the Amazon Warriors are under huge pressure as hosts so don’t gift them the match.

Key Players

Rahmanullah Gurbaz is a regular fixture at the top of the order for the Guyana Amazon Warriors and if he can continue the form he showed in the previous match then he is likely to put his team in a good position to win once again.

Shakib Al Hasan is the obvious difference maker for the Dubai Capitals. He is probably their best batter and he is definitely their best bowler so their success or failure could be determined on how well he goes in this match.

Betting

Having watched the opening match of the day on this pitch we could see that there is a short boundary and when you add in the dew factor for the evening games I think we can exploit the 304.5 run line for this one. There were 301 runs in the first game and I think it is fair to say that the Guyana batting unit is better than both of the ones on show in that game and if Dubai bat properly they should go well too.

The opening Dubai game covered this line and in their second game Hobart reached their 142 target with three overs left so they would have gone beyond 160 if they had to. Guyana have scored 158/6 and 154 in their two matches so we don’t actually need much improvement for this line to be covered. You wouldn’t think the Dubai batters would bat as poorly against the Guyana spinners as what the Central Stags ones did but there isn’t anything in the Dubai attack to scare Guyana. I like over 304.5 runs here.
