How to gallop through the Grand National

Welsome to the first of Kevshatsportsbets Grand National articles, betting previews and special offers.

HR6The Grand National is fast approaching, with the Aintree Festival opening on Thursday 7th April and the big race on the Saturday.

A bet on the Grand National is the only one many people will place all year, making the event the biggest betting day of the year in the UK.

The gambling world can seem a bit befuddling if you are unfamiliar with it. So, Kevshatsportsbets has put together some ideas on how you can increase your chances of winning some money with our How to Gallop through the Grand National guide.

How to Gallop through the Grand National guide

How do you bet?

You’ll probably place your bets at your local bookies’. You will venture inside, possibly ask for some help in filling out your betting slip and place your bet over the counter. This is how we placed our first bet, so we have shared the experience and the thrill of the prospect of winning.

The Aintree course is notoriously challenging, meaning the outcome can be uncertain.

What’s more, the bookies don’t offer any incentives to bet there.

What if we showed you how to bet differently and gain FREE BETS to use on the race at NO EXTRA COST – and with the chance of WINNING MORE MONEY!

Would this be appealing?

I bet it would! (See what we did there?)

We’ll show you how to place your bets online from the comfort of your sofa by creating online betting accounts. There are loads of offers that will give you more opportunities to win.

Kevshatsportsbets have an in-depth guide to betting starting here – How to Bet – the Basics and Odds

What does everything mean?

Let’s assume you were planning to go to the bookies and stake £10 on a horse – either £10 to win or £5 each/way. If you place a straight bet (to win) on the Grand National you have a 1 in 40 to chance to win. You could, like many people do, place an each way bet on your horse. This way if your horse finishes in the first five places you will still make some money.

The table below shows you how much you can win with the different bet types.

 Step 1

We would start with Paddypower. When you create a Paddypower account they offer a sign-up bonus for all new customers.

As our banner below shows if you stake £10, Paddypower will give you £30 in free bets (these come in the form of 3 x £10 bets). So the £10 that you were going to bet on the Grand National has suddenly become £40!

You can create a Paddypower Account by clicking on our banner:

That means you stake your original £10 on the horse you fancied at the start but you also have an extra 3 £10 bets to use on other horses (either to win or place as each/way bets). We would suggest choosing three horses amongst the 5 to 6 lowest prices as these are predicted to have a greater chance of winning.

Your chances of selecting the winner have now improved to 1 in 10!

Kevshatsportsbets are going to be producing a full Race Preview of the Grand National with expert tips. We believe our tips will go well, so why not choose our selections for the race with your free bets.

Step 2

Some of you may be planning to stake more than £10 on the Grand National. If that is the case we suggest you create the Paddypower Account as above with your £10 deposit BUT also create a second online betting account with a different bookmaker.

Our second suggestion would be Skybet. They offer a New Customer deal where you stake £5 and get a £20 free bet (in this case as a £20 free bet).

So by staking £15 online you effectively have £65 to bet with on the Grand National (£15 of your own money, £30 from Paddypower and £20 from Skybet). That is six bets you can place on the race and you are only providing the funds for two of them!

4 FREE BETS

Place each bet on a different horse than you have backed with Paddypower.

You can create an online account with Skybet by clicking on the banner:

NOTE – A Skybet TV Advert on Saturday (3rd April) said they would be paying 8 PLACES ON THE RACE!!!

This is great as it increases your chances of winning some money.

 Step 3

Of course, what is there stopping you from creating a third account with a third bookmaker? Well there is no reason to stop at one or two if you don’t want to. There are enough bookmakers with sign-up offers that you could easily get 40 free bets and essentially back every horse in the race!

But that might not be a good idea – don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Remember there are a lot of other amazing sporting events in 2016 – Olympics in Rio, European Football Championships, Ryder Cup Golf and many more for which you could save some sign-up offers. We will be covering all of these events, providing tips and guides to help you win, so check back regularly (sign up to our newsletter to make sure you don’t miss out).

We would recommend three as a maximum for the Grand National. Coral would be a good choice as a third sign-up as they have the same new customer offer as Skybet – stake £5 of your own money to receive £20 in free bets.

Click the banner to create your Coral account:

As our table shows – investing £20 of your own money will give you £70 in free bets.

Important Information

We suggest you open your online betting accounts by Friday 6th April at the latest. Why you ask? A lot of the bookies website receive incredibly high volumes of visitors on the day of the Grand National – this can slow them down and potentially delay you getting access to your free bets!

Notes about Free Bets

If you win you do not receive the free bet money back as part of your winnings.

With a regular bet of £10 at odds of 10/1 you would receive £110 in winnings (£10 x 10 and the £10 stake).

With a free bet of £10 at odds of 10/1 you would receive £100 in winnings (just the £10 x 10 – the bookmaker keeps the £10 stake). However, we’re sure you will agree £100 returned from a FREE BET where you have ZERO RISK is awesome!
