ILT20 2025 – Sharjah Warriorz vs Dubai Capitals Tips and Betting Preview

There is one match in the ILT20 2025 season on Friday and it sees the competition head over to Sharjah for the first time as the Sharjah Warriorz flex their muscles when they go up against the Dubai Capitals in an intriguing clash.

These two sides have a win and a loss on their ledger so one of them is going to take the pressure off themselves with a win here and leave the other with a bit of work to do when they are next in action this weekend.

Sharjah Warriorz

The Sharjah Warriorz were the outsiders of the lot to win the competition this season but they took no notice of that whatsoever when they stole victory away from the Gulf Giants in their opening game but they had no answer to the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in their second one. In truth they were well beaten in that game and will certainly want a much better showing from both departments of their side in this one, although this ground might just suit them.

To be fair to the Warriorz, they might just have run into an Andre Russell blitz at the wrong time in the match that they lost and that can happen to anyone but more of a concern would be the indifferent effort that they put up in the run chase. They need to be consistent with the bat because you wouldn’t look at this bowling unit and say it is the best in the competition. They do have my bug bear of an opener batting at three though. That suggests poor work in the draft.

Dubai Capitals

The Dubai Capitals will be happy enough with their start to the season but they will be particularly happy to have got rid of the MI Emirates for the remainder of the regular campaign. They will also be pleased to have come out of those games with a win and a loss because it already looks like the defending champions will be the team to beat in this competition by the end of it. The Capitals will now look to push on from the platform that they have laid to reach the top four.

A win here will move the Capitals into second place in the table ahead of the weekend and they still have some key players to arrive at the competition too which will be a confident thing for them. The Capitals held their nerve to win the first match against the Emirates outfit but when they had scoreboard pressure against them they weren’t able to get over the line. That might change when they get some batting reinforcements in though.

Key Players

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has started the tournament in decent nick for the Sharjah Warriorz. He might have needed to after the decision to open with him and having Jason Roy batting at three but the Englishman hasn’t disappointed.

Gulbadin Naib has six wickets in his opening two matches for the Dubai Capitals and they will be hoping that he can find some more scalps here to keep the score down and take the pressure off of a batting unit that might be a batter light.

Betting

Both of these teams look a little light to me until reinforcements arrive so I wouldn’t want to trust either of them but on this ground with at least four West Indians involved I think the sixes is the way to play this one. There is three matches in as many days on this ground so you would imagine the pitch for this game will be extremely good and when it is here the ball can fly to all parts on a ground which is nothing like the biggest in the competition.

The sixes line for this one is at 10.5 which just feels low for a Sharjah match and with some pretty big hitting batters in either side along with the West Indian players then I think we can get this line covered. The new ball attacks for both sides have been conceding a few runs and if the openers can catch fire it will set the innings up for some bigger hitters to come. The tournament has been laced with sixes so far and we can get another 11 here.
