With the way the Indian Premier League table has condensed over the last few days we have some huge matches to come over the final three days of the regular season and they begin on Friday when the Delhi Daredevils host the Sunrisers Hyderabad in a big game in the race for playoff spots.
Delhi have seen teams whizz past them in recent days so they know with their negative run rate they need a win here. Sunrisers still sit top and a win in either of their last two will guarantee a playoff place and a top two finish.
Delhi Daredevils
After a positive start to the campaign the Daredevils have really hit the skids in recent times and they need to put an end to that here if they are to make it past the regular season. Four defeats in five couldn’t possibly have come at a worse time.
The balance of the Delhi side hasn’t been as strong as they would like in recent matches so that is something that will have needed to be changed and they will have to get used to a new home ground for this match as well which is never ideal.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
In contrast to the Daredevils, the Sunrisers are in pretty decent form. They have lost a couple of matches to the Rising Pune Supergiants who seem to be something of a bogey side for them but other than that I’m sure Tom Moody and co will be very happy with their form.
The Sunrisers have the best bowling attack in the competition and they will hope that core of their side can continue to produce the goods for another week or so. If they do they could well be the champions next weekend.
Team news
Guessing the line up of this Delhi side isn’t an easy thing these days but Zaher Khan is fit which is important while Chris Morris and Quinton de Kock look booked in for two of the overseas spots. The other two could go to anyone.
Sunrisers Hyderabad will be forced into one change with Ashish Nehra being ruled out for the rest of the tournament. Barinder Sran is likely to return in his place while Kane Williamson could come back into the side as well.

This is the first match of the season at this Raipur track. Delhi will play another match here to conclude their season. They played a couple of matches on this ground last year neither of which were particularly high scoring.
The seamers tended to go pretty well on this ground last season but the boundaries are quite big here and that should give the spinners some encouragement which you would expect anyway given that Delhi have plenty of spin options in their line up.
Betting
This is a huge match for the home side and I fancy they can step up and win this one. They are the one side who have taken Mustafiqur apart this season and if they can do that again then with Nehra missing for the Sunrisers that could be the key to victory for Delhi Daredevils.
Sunrisers have been batting much better in recent games but their bowling has just started to leak a little bit of oil. In their last two matches Delhi made 150 in 18 overs against them and Kings XI Punjab made 179 so the Daredevils should draw a bit of confidence from that.
Delhi have the motivation of knowing they need to win this whereas Sunrisers know they have another chance should they not take advantage of this game and that need to win can focus the mind enough for them to deliver a solid effort with the bat and assuming they do that this is a match they can win.
