International Darts Open – Last 16 Matches Betting Preview

It is the final day of the International Darts Open on Sunday with the Last 16 taking place in the afternoon session ahead of the quarter finals, the semis and the final all in one important evening session.

We won’t be able to offer insights into the evening session on Sunday due to time constraints but we can look into the afternoon matches and it would be wrong of us not to do that so here goes.

Top Half Matches

The action begins with the two walkover beneficiaries in the last round when Ryan Meikle takes on Yordi Meeuwisse before Jelle Klaasen meets Mensur Suljovic in one of the matches of the afternoon. James Wilson plays Terry Jenkins and then this section of the draw is completed with Dave Chisnall playing Andy Boulton.

Bottom Half Matches

Peter Wright made it through to this stage and his reward for doing so is a meeting with Simon Whitlock while Benito van de Pas follows them when he faces Robert Thornton. Ian White then faces the surprise package of the event Dragutin Horvat and the session rounds off with Kim Huybrechts against Robbie Green.

Betting

There isn’t a huge amount in this session that I like in truth and I don’t want to go too mad having been burnt by a couple of deciding leg losses on Saturday. In the end I’ve decided to go with one bet although I’ll obviously be cheering on Jelle Klaasen having backed him outright.

The bet I like is James Wilson to beat Terry Jenkins. The former BDO number one has been in good form this weekend seeing off Andy Hamilton and Michael Smith already with a 100+ average being put to good use in beating the latter.

Terry Jenkins came through a deciding leg in the last 32 on Saturday seeing off Darren Webster and on another day that could’ve gone the other way so Jenkins could be there for the taking a little here. Wilson is a streaky player but when he’s on it he’s tough to beat and that looks like it could well be the case this weekend. I’ll go with him at odds against.

Tips

WON – Back J.Wilson to beat T.Jenkins for a 4/10 stake at 2.10 with Paddy Power
