The Major League Cricket season continues with another double header of action on Saturday with things getting real in the MLC 2025 campaign for the MI New York and Los Angeles Knight Riders sides when they play each other in the first game.
Los Angeles Knight Riders have their season on the line here but MI New York have a spot in the top four in their sights for a few hours at the very least so there is no shortage of motivation for these two teams here.
MI New York
The MI New York side gave their chances of reaching the top four a boost on Thursday evening when they got the better of the Los Angeles Knight Riders and if they can complete a quick double over the same opponent then they will move into the top four for a few hours and will then put the pressure on the Seattle Orcas later in the night. The trip to Florida might just have come at the right time for New York as they go about looking to regain the title they won in the inaugural season.
The New York batting had come good prior to arriving in Florida to be fair to that unit but their bowlers really needed some help from the pitches and the atmospheric conditions and they are getting that here in Lauderhill and that should make them a tough team to beat. While New York can go fourth with a win, you would think that their season could be as good as over were they to lose this match so this is a huge game for the inaugural winners.
Los Angeles Knight Riders
It might be do or die for the MI New York side but it definitely is for the Los Angeles Knight Riders. If they are unable to double their tally of wins for the season in this match then they will be the first team eliminated from the competition. Even if they are able to pick up the win their season could end later in the night when the Seattle Orcas play, such is the precarious position that they find themselves in, but they have to take care of what they can control and that is winning this match.
If that is going to happen then they have to improve in all departments. It almost beggars belief how bad a team with this much talent at their disposal has been but the problem is that they danced with the devil in regards to experience and being past it and those star names have in the main shown that they are under the latter category. It might be time to blood someone fresh and hope that he can give them the pep that they need.

Key Players
Trent Boult basically ripped the game open in the first couple of overs for the MI New York side and if he can make inroads into this low on confidence batting unit again here then the New York team will be ahead of the game.
Andre Fletcher scored a century for the Los Angeles Knight Riders earlier in the competition and the team in bottom spot in the table could really do with a big score from their opening batter in this game to keep them in it.
Betting
The MI New York side are into 4/6 after their win over the Los Angeles Knight Riders. That is understandable because we’ve seen nothing from the Los Angeles Knight Riders to suggest that they can turn the tables on New York but I don’t really want to trust a team who have won just two out of eight matches at a price as skinny as that so I am very much looking at the side markets for a punt on this game and it is the run line that I like.
The first game between these two on Thursday night was one of the higher scoring matches here in Florida but since then we have had two more matches on this ground and the pitches are getting tougher and tougher to score on so I am a little surprised that we still have a run line of 343.5 runs. The four full matches on this ground have yielded 337, 309, 295 and 168 runs and it is hard to see this one suddenly jumping up to 344 runs. I’ll play the under.
