MLS 2017 – Saturday 24th June Matches Betting Preview

The MLS continues with eight matches up and down America and Canada on Saturday evening and with the league in full swing now we should be treated to some decent football in all of these matches.

All of the matches will be streamed with the bookmakers with one of the matches live on the TV in the UK so there is plenty of ways to access the games to bet either before the off or in-play.

Saturday’s matches are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)

New York Red Bulls vs New York City FC (18.30)

Atlanta United vs Colorado Rapids (00.00)

Philadelphia Union vs DC United (00.00)

Columbus Crew vs Montreal Impact (00.30)

Minnesota United vs Vancouver Whitecaps (01.00)

Chicago Fire vs Orlando City (01.30)

Los Angeles Galaxy vs Sporting Kansas City (03.30)

San Jose Earthquakes vs Real Salt Lake (03.30)

Big Matches

They probably come no bigger in this list than the New York derby at the Red Bull Arena with both sides looking to enhance their position inside the Eastern play-offs. At the other end of that table Philadelphia Union host DC United while Chicago Fire against Orlando City could be a postseason match. Los Angeles Galaxy against Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City is the pick of the matches in that part of the country.

Best of the Rest

Columbus Crew and Montreal Impact looks like being an open match while Atlanta United will get tested by the Colorado Rapids. Minnesota United, Vancouver Whitecaps, San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake all have the chance to boost their spot in the standings.

Betting

I like two bets here. You have to go back eight matches for the last time a Columbus Crew match didn’t contain at least three goals while Montreal Impact go into their match off the back of a 3-3 draw last time out in the MLS. These two know how to open each other up. They played out a 4-4 draw last season and have already combined for a five goal thriller this season. There is enough to suggest we will see more than three goals in this match.

Chicago Fire have been one of the stories of the season and I fancy that story can continue to be written on Saturday evening when they host an Orlando City side who will be without their star striker Cyle Larin after his DUI arrest recently. Chicago have been especially good on their own patch this season dropping just two points in eight matches and with Orlando being average at best away from home and having played in Seattle on Wednesday and having to encounter all the travelling that goes with that I expect the Fire to pick up a comfortable three points here.
