MLS 2017 – Saturday 9th September Matches Betting Preview

The MLS is back this weekend with another set of matches on Saturday evening as we begin the turn towards the home straight prior to the play-offs. It is a particularly big day in the Eastern Conference with four of the top five in action.

When assessing this round of matches we should remember the struggles in communities where the hurricanes are reeking damage. That may mean that focus is not entirely on the football so we should tread carefully.

Saturday’s matches are as follows: (UK kick off times in brackets)

Chicago Fire vs New York Red Bulls (20.55)

Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes (22.00)

New York City vs Portland Timbers (22.30)

DC United vs Orlando City (00.00)

New England Revolution vs Montreal Impact (00.30)

Minnesota United vs Philadelphia Union (01.00)

Houston Dynamo vs Colorado Rapids (01.30)

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Real Salt Lake (03.00)

Big Matches

There are two matches on the TV for those of us in the UK with New York City against Portland Timbers and New England Revolution against Montreal Impact on the box for us to enjoy. Chicago Fire against New York Red Bulls is a big match in the Eastern Conference.

Best of the Rest

Toronto FC look to maintain their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference when they host San Jose Earthquakes while there are a couple of big matches in the West when Houston Dynamo host Colorado Rapids and Vancouver Whitecaps take on Real Salt Lake.

Betting

There are two bets I like on this card. The first is in the second TV match as the New England Revolution take on the Montreal Impact and I’m expecting goals in it. The Revolution have found their scoring boots having put four past Orlando City last weekend while most Montreal Impact matches contain goals and I don’t expect this one to be any different. I think over 3 goals is a good way to get the evening underway.

Houston Dynamo are yet to lose a home match this season while their opponents Colorado Rapids have not won on the road at any point in this campaign so I like the idea of a home win in that match. When you add the extra feeling around the place after the atrocities of recent events I am expecting a high energy performance from the hosts and one which will lead them to another comfortable win.
