MLS 2017 – Sunday 28th May Matches Betting Preview

There are two matches in the MLS on Sunday night to finish up the current round of fixtures and both have plenty of appeal to them. The first match in on Sky in the UK so we will have the chance to keep up with that while the other will be streamed with the bookmakers.

Atlanta United vs New York City FC

Two of the better sides to watch in Major League Soccer get the action underway when Atlanta United host New York City FC in an Eastern Conference clash. These two have already played this season when NYC won 3-1 at the Yankee Stadium.

Atlanta head into the match off the back of thrashing Houston Dynamo last weekend while New York City were far too good for Orlando City last week so both sides should be confident going into this one.

In truth I’m not sure who I think will win the match. I do think there will be goals though as there were in the reverse fixture but the goal line is 3.25 which is slightly too high for me. It may well be covered but there isn’t a lot of margin for error so I’ll sit this one out.

FC Dallas vs Houston Dynamo

The second match of the night is a Western Conference battle between arguably the best side in MLS in FC Dallas and possibly the most improved side in the competition in Houston Dynamo.

FC Dallas might be the best team in the league but they arrive here in very indifferent form with just one win in their last five matches while Houston head into the game with back to back defeats, both of which have come on the road which will be a concern.

There is a question mark over whether Dallas will have recovered from their defeat to Chicago on Thursday night but they gave a good account of themselves in that match considering their coach made eight changes. With the rested players expected to return I fancy the home side to get back to winning ways here.

Houston are awful away from home and have been for a while. They have just two wins in their last 30 away games and this season they have played five away from home and lost the lot scoring just three goals. Dallas don’t concede many and I believe they have enough up top to secure a comfortable win.
