MLS 2017 – Wednesday 13th September Matches Betting Preview

There are two matches in the MLS in a truncated midweek of action in the big American league. It may not be the biggest schedule of the season but the two matches could well have a big bearing on the play-off ladder come the end of the regular campaign.

Unfortunately neither match is live on the TV in the UK but they will both be shown on the usual streaming consoles so we don’t need to miss out which is important given they should be good matches.

Atlanta United vs New England Revolution (00.00 BST)

Atlanta United play their second match in their new home on Wednesday night looking to build on their opening win against FC Dallas at the weekend. They take on a New England Revolution who are starting to launch a play-off push of their own.

A win for Atlanta will see them overtake New York Red Bulls and move into fifth in the Eastern Conference. With plenty more matches in hand there is every chance they will secure a home match in the play-offs if they keep winning. New England will move into seventh with a win and will be within a point of their hosts in the race for the final play-off spot.

I like the idea of goals here. I don’t think New England are the best at the back and Atlanta should really enjoy getting on the front foot and getting stuck into them but on the flip side of that New England may have some joy on the counter attack. Most Atlanta games are open and I expect no different here and am happy to get on the over 3 goals.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Minnesota United (03.00 BST)

Top spot in the Western Conference is up for grabs for the Vancouver Whitecaps when they take on Minnesota United in a Conference clash. A win by two or more will see the Canadians hit the top of what is fast becoming a very competitive and interesting Western table. Minnesota United might have improved in the last couple of weeks but their season is done from a competitive standpoint.

The Whitecaps head into the contest with all the motivation that they need. They are not the best of sides at home in terms of their overall record but in recent times they have got better and better there. Minnesota’s win at Chicago in their last away game was their first ever road win. They will be eyeing up back to back road successes here.

I think the Whitecaps are getting stronger as the season goes along and I expect them to win this match. Minnesota are not the best side going and they could start to lack motivation with their debut season going nowhere. I like the home side in this one.
