Big Matches

The live game in the UK is the one between the Montreal Impact and New York City in the Eastern Conference. The biggest match of the night sees the Western Conference leaders Vancouver Whitecaps going to the champions Seattle Sounders who are pushing for a high play-off seeding but who have hit the skids at the wrong time.

Best of the Rest

All eyes will be on Atlanta to see if they can continue this amazing spell of theirs. They host Philadelphia Union. Houston Dynamo need to take advantage of a home match when they play Los Angeles Galaxy while FC Dallas are entering must win territory when they host the Colorado Rapids. New York Red Bulls can solidify their play-off champions when they host DC United.

Betting

I like two home sides here. Atlanta United might have played a lot of football recently but it has all been at home so I don’t think it would have taken too much out of them. They have made the Mercedes Benz Stadium a bit of a fortress already and I expect that to continue on Wednesday night. Philadelphia Union are putting together something of an unbeaten run having gone four without defeat but this will be their toughest test in that run and I fully believe the home side will cover the handicap here.

Houston Dynamo have hit the buffers with no win in their last five matches but only one of those have been at home where they are genuinely much better than on their travels. They host Los Angeles Galaxy who in my eyes gave up on the season a long while ago. They have issues bigger than just a bad run of form and there appears to be no sign of coming out of it anytime soon. Given their bad run on the road this is becoming a must win match for the Dynamo. I think they’ll do that.
