MLS 2018 – Saturday 14th April Matches Betting Preview

The MLS weekend continues with seven matches on Saturday evening in what looks like quite an entertaining night of action in a league which is starting to bubble up quite nicely. Many of the sides expected to contend are in action over the course of the night so we should be set for a decent night of footy.

We have one match live on Sky in the UK but there are the usual ways to keep up to date with all the action including the various live streaming consoles so there is no reason not to be able to follow our bets.

Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)

New York Red Bulls vs Montreal Impact (18.00)

Colorado Rapids vs Toronto FC (20.00)

Chicago Fire vs Los Angeles Galaxy (20.30)

DC United vs Columbus Crew (00.00)

New England Revolution vs FC Dallas (00.30)

Portland Timbers vs Minnesota United (03.30)

San Jose Earthquakes vs Houston Dynamo (03.30)

Big Matches

The live match in the UK could be a clash of the titans as we could see Bastian Schweinsteiger taking on Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Chicago Fire host Los Angeles Galaxy in a match which actually both sides could do with winning. The other big match on the night sees the champions Toronto FC heading to Colorado Rapids.

Best of the Rest

Portland Timbers will be looking to recover from their agonising defeat in Orlando last week when they host Minnesota United while New England Revolution will look to end the unbeaten start of FC Dallas. The first match of the night sees New York Red Bulls looking to bounce back from their Champions League exit in midweek when they host Montreal Impact.

Betting

I like two bets over the course of the night and they get going right at the beginning with the New York Red Bulls against the Montreal Impact. It is the home side I like here. They have an excellent record against the Impact having beaten them 5-0 and 4-0 at Red Bull Arena in recent seasons and they won twice in between them too. Montreal have lost three of their four away matches this season and I expect them to feel the full force of the Red Bulls in this one.

The New England Revolution have started the season strongly and I expect that to continue when they host FC Dallas on Saturday evening. The Revs lost their opening match but they have picked up three wins since then. Dallas are unbeaten but they have yet to play on the road this season and have drawn three of their four matches so have found wins hard to come by. New England are flying at Foxboro and I fancy them to edge out Dallas here.
