Big Matches

The two matches that are live on TV for us in the UK are the first two listed. The Western Conference clash between Seattle Sounders and LA Galaxy should be tasty with both sides in good form while the Eastern Conference game between Philadelphia Union and New York City FC should be equally as competitive with Philly good at home and NYC tough to beat anywhere they play. The other big game comes from Vancouver as New York Red Bulls can take the lead in the chase for the Supporters’ Shield if they can see off the Whitecaps.

Best of the Rest

FC Dallas get the chance to consolidate their lead at the top of the Western Conference when they host Minnesota United who don’t travel too well while the Sporting Kansas City and Portland Timbers match sees two of the best in the West going head to head. Montreal Impact can steal a march on the chasing pack in the East if they can see off Chicago Fire.

Betting

I’ll go with two bets over the course of the night. Montreal Impact have improved as the season has gone on and I think they have enough to see of a Chicago Fire side who have been awful over recent times and who can’t buy anything on the road. Montreal might be winless in four matches but they have been four tough games against good opposition. This represents a chance for the Canadians to get their campaign back on track and I fully expect them to take full advantage of that.

The second bet I like is on the Houston Dynamo. They have flattered to deceive in the league in recent weeks but have shown some good form in their cup performances. They take on a Real Salt Lake who have just five points in 12 matches on the road and who have scored just eight goals in that time as well. One thing Houston have is goals in them. They are heading towards the last chance saloon now but the bell for last orders hasn’t run yet. They can guarantee another drink with a win here.
