MLS 2018 – Sunday 20th May Matches Betting Preview

There are three more matches in the MLS on Sunday evening which is perfect for people like us who absolutely love this league. Matches across both Conferences take place one after the other so everything is set for an entertaining Sunday evening.

The middle match of the three is live on TV for those of us who live in the UK but as ever the other matches will be streamed with all of the bookmakers so there is no reason to miss a minute of the action.

Minnesota United vs Sporting Kansas City (19.00)

We begin the evening in the Western Conference which is unusual as Minnesota United play host to the leaders Sporting Kansas City in a match that you get the feeling would really highlight the strength of the credentials of the opposition.

The Loons are yet to truly kick on in their second season in the league although to be fair I don’t think they are necessarily doing that badly, their record just looks bad when they are compared to Atlanta United who came into the league at the same time.

Sporting Kansas City have been one of the best sides in the competition for a while and they look as good as ever this season. They are a much more offensive unit this season but despite that they still have the third best defensive record in the league. I wasn’t going to back SKC for this one but a shade under even money is just too tempting and has reeled me in.

Chicago Fire vs Houston Dynamo (21.00)

The one match which sees teams from both Conferences opposing each other is the second match of the night as Chicago Fire host the Houston Dynamo in what is the TV match for those of us in the UK.

Chicago Fire have found it hard going this term although injuries are certainly doing them no favours while Houston Dynamo haven’t been as consistent as they were last year but actually their performances and their play has been quite good. If anything they have been guilty of wasting a lot of chances.

I’m expecting to see some goals here. The Fire will feel this is a match that they can win and indeed one that they need to win while Houston just go about their business in an attacking way as normal. Unless the keepers have great games I think over 2.75 goals will land in this one.

Atlanta United vs New York Red Bulls (00.00)

They have saved the best for last on Sunday night as Atlanta United look to extend their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference when they host a dangerous side in the New York Red Bulls in a match which should display all of the attacking nature of this league.

Atlanta United are usually the business at home but they did get beaten by Sporting Kansas City there last time out. They will be looking to make up for that but New York Red Bulls have won their last two on the road and will be eyeing up a hat trick.

I have to believe we are going to see goals here too. Atlanta will always play on the front foot at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium while New York Red Bulls are more offensive than defensive. Over 3.25 goals looks to be the obvious play in this one.
