MLS 2018 – Sunday 8th April Matches Betting Preview

There are two matches to finish up the latest weekend in Major League Soccer as the MLS season concludes its first month. Although we only have four sides on show we have some of the biggest and best players in the league in action so we should get an entertaining night of football once again.

The first of the two matches is live on the TV for those of us in the UK with the other one on the streamed sites of all of the bookmakers who bet live on this division so there is no reason to miss any of the action.

Orlando City vs Portland Timbers

The opening match of the night comes from deepest Florida where Orlando City go in search of successive wins when they host Portland Timbers from the Western Conference who will be looking for their first win of the season.

Dom Dwyer returned to scored twice in an epic win over New York Red Bulls for Orlando last week and they should have taken a lot of confidence from that. Portland Timbers have completed back-to-back draws after their 2-2 draw in Chicago last time out but are finding that win elusive.

I fancy Orlando to win this match but the much better bet looks to be over 2.75 goals. Orlando should start scoring for fun with Dwyer and Kljestan linking up while Portland have goals in them but have already shipped four away to an Eastern Conference side this season. Orlando won 4-3 last week and I fancy this one to be similarly high scoring. I like the over on the goal line.

Los Angeles Galaxy vs Sporting Kansas City

The second match comes from Stubhub Center where the second chapter of the Zlatan Ibrahimovic story will play itself out when the Los Angeles Galaxy host Sporting Kansas City in a big looking match in the Western Conference.

Zlatan brought the house down with an incredible goal and then a winner in the derby last week as Los Angeles fought from 3-0 down to win 4-3 and they might need him to produce something special here too because Sporting Kansas City are on a four match unbeaten run and are looking very solid themselves. SKC have made some good signings in the close season and look to have transformed the way they way to play. No longer is this a side content to win 1-0.

I fancy we will see goals here too. Nobody had scored more this season heading into the weekend than Sporting Kansas City while the Los Angeles attack has clearly been pepped up by Zlatan’s arrival. The goal line is amazingly 2.5 here which tells me that bookmakers have not responded to SKCs change in style. We’ve noticed it though and we’ll go over 2.5 accordingly.
