MLS 2018 – Wednesday 9th May Matches Betting Preview

There is a mini round of matches in the MLS on Wednesday night with some big sides in action on what looks like being a good night of football. Among the card is a battle between the two Conference leaders but there is plenty more besides that contest.

Unfortunately none of the matches are on TV for those of us in the UK but they are available on the various bookmaker streams so we can watch them all as we go through the night.

Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off time in brackets)

Atlanta United vs Sporting Kansas City (00.30)

Columbus Crew vs Philadelphia Union (00.30)

Toronto FC vs Seattle Sounders (00.30)

Chicago Fire vs Montreal Impact (01.30)

Los Angeles FC vs Minnesota United (03.00)

New Customers can get Man Utd at an enhanced 25/1 to beat West Ham. Max Stake £1. Winnings paid in free bets. Full T&Cs Apply. 18+|Gamble Aware.

Big Matches

Two matches absolutely jump off the page here and they are both important in their own right. The leaders of the Eastern Conference faces the Western Conference frontrunners when Atlanta United play host to Sporting Kansas City while up across the border we have a rerun of the last two MLS Cup Finals when Toronto FC take on Seattle Sounders in a match both sides could really do with a win in.

Best of the Rest

To be fair this truncated card is laced in quality so much that even the other three matches are decent enough in their own right. There are two Eastern Conference clashes as Columbus Crew host the Philadelphia Union while two sides who will want a win meet in the Windy City when the Chicago Fire take on Montreal Impact. The other match comes from the Western Conference as Los Angeles FC welcome Minnesota United to their new stadium.

Betting

The two leading scorers meet at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium and I’m expecting goals when they do. There have been 23 goals in the five matches that Atlanta United have played at home this season and with Sporting Kansas City having already played out a 4-3 win on their travels there is no reason why this one won’t be laced with goals either. Both sides are in good form and are good to watch going forward. I think over 3 is a line which these two are perfectly capable of covering.

Toronto FC picked up a decent win on Friday night and they will look to back that up when they take on the side they beat to win the MLS Cup last season in Seattle Sounders. The Sounders have made a bang average start to this campaign. Injuries aren’t helping them but they have just looked poor in their performances. Toronto have had an excuse for their poor start but they looked much more like the side which won this league last season on Friday and I’ll back them to get the better of Seattle once again.
