MLS 2019 – Friday 28th June Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The latest weekend in the Major League Soccer season begins on Friday night with two attractive clashes in the competition as we head beyond the halfway mark in the season. Three of the four sides in action harbour hopes of going all the way so we should be in for a decent evening of football.

Both the matches are live on Free Sports in the UK so other than the time of night that they are on there is no need to miss out on any of the action. We have four attack minded teams on show to entertain us.

New York Red Bulls vs Chicago Fire (01.00)

The first match of the night comes from the Eastern Conference where the New York Red Bulls take on the Chicago Fire in a match where both sides will be eager for the three points to boost their position in the division.

Prior to the mid-season break the Red Bulls had their good form halted by a loss at Philadelphia so they will be looking to hit the ground running again here while Chicago Fire have seen their strong start to the season fade a little after a period without a win so they too need to find a win relatively soon it has to be said.

As has been the case since the competition returned, internationals are still affecting things and the Red Bulls will be without three-quarters of their first choice defence here so I’m expecting goals in this game. Chicago have scored goals on the road and with Nicolas Gaitan in their ranks they have a right threat. Red Bulls are free scoring so over 2.75 goals looks good to me.

Colorado Rapids vs Los Angeles FC (03.00)

The other match on show on Friday night sees the bottom side in the Western Conference hosting the leaders of that division when the Colorado Rapids take on Los Angeles FC in what looks like being an away win.

Both these sides like to get forward and show what they can do and it will be interesting to see if their styles blend to allow for an attacking game. If it does then with the quality of forwards on the pitch here there should be a number of goals but it is just a little too early after the break for comfort where I’m concerned so I’d rather watch this and assess than risk a bet.
