MLS 2019 – Saturday 21st September Matches Tips and Betting Preview

We are in the home straight of the MLS regular season and with three full rounds of games to go every point is taking on extra significance, especially for those sides who are chasing an extension to their campaign, of which there are many.

That battle is going to continue on Saturday evening where there are eight matches in total, and some pretty important ones among them. Half of the matches are live on TV in the UK on what looks like another excellent night of action.

Big Matches

The four TV matches get underway right from the start of the day when the defending champions Atlanta United play host to the San Jose Earthquakes in a big game for both sides as they look to firm up their play-off spots. The next TV game is something of a dead rubber as the Vancouver Whitecaps take on the Columbus Crew before the real stuff gets going again. Two more sides look to strengthen their postseason claims when the New England Revolution host Real Salt Lake while the final TV game is another battle of top seven challengers in the respective Conferences as LA Galaxy take on the Montreal Impact.

Best of the Rest

The TV matches have got most of the big stories covered on Saturday night but there are one or two matches worth catching on the streams. The first of those is the one seeing Chicago Fire going to FC Cincinnati in a game the Fire have to win to keep their top seven hopes alive. Supporters’ Shield leaders Los Angeles FC host Toronto FC in what should be a game full of goals while the other two matches sees Houston Dynamo taking on Orlando City and Sporting Kansas City meeting the Colorado Rapids.

Betting

We are at that stage of the season where we are getting some skewed prices because of the need for some teams to win more than others and as such there are not too many betting opportunities which jump off the page at us in these matches. I’m mindful that there could be some good potential on Sunday though so I’ll go with just the one bet here.

That comes in the match up at Cincinnati where I’m expecting goals in the game between FC Cincinnati and Chicago Fire. Although they lost in midweek, Cincinnati troubled Atlanta United and if they are doing that they should be threatening here you would think. Chicago have to win this match. It is imperative for them to do so, so there won’t be no parking the bus or anything like that. There is no reason for Cincinnati not to have a go either so I expect to see more than three goals in this battle.
