Big Matches

The three televised matches involve some big clubs with the one on Sky Sports coming from Canada where the Montreal Impact take on a DC United side who are getting dangerously close to falling out of the play-off places completely in Wayne Rooney’s final season with the club. Over on Free Sports we get the battle of the top two in the Eastern Conference as Philadelphia Union take on Atlanta United while later in the night the match between the San Jose Earthquakes and Orlando City FC is also being shown.

Best of the Rest

New York City FC sit third in the Eastern Conference and they can enhance their position when they travel to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps while there are a couple of interesting looking Western Conference battles as Sporting Kansas City continue their late surge towards the play-off places. They host Houston Dynamo while later in the evening Portland Timbers host Real Salt Lake in a match they really need to win to get back among the top seven mix. FC Dallas sit in the final spot in the Western Conference and they look to have a comfortable three points against FC Cincinnati. There is also a key match in the Eastern Conference where the New England Revolution host Toronto FC which could have a huge implication on the top seven.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the night with the first one coming in Texas where FC Dallas should have it all their own way against a woeful FC Cincinnati side. Dallas have scored five in each of their last two and I wouldn’t be surprised if they find the back of the net more than that here. Cincinnati have leaked 64 goals this season including seven in their last two matches and gave up on their campaign a long time ago. Dallas will know the need to win this one and I expect them to cruise to victory here.

I also expect Portland Timbers to pick up a much needed three points too against a Real Salt Lake side who are a lot better on their own patch than they are away from home. The Timbers have lost their last two home matches but they have been to Atlanta and Seattle so there is no need to panic just yet. They have already been to Real Salt Lake and won this year which should give them a lot of confidence for this one. I still think the Timbers are the better of these two sides and with the pressure on them they can show that here.
