Sporting Kansas City vs Seattle Sounders (23.00)

The opening match of the night is an all-Western Conference battle between a side in Sporting Kansas City who are at the wrong end of proceedings and the Seattle Sounders who are very much in the mix and where they want to be.

Sporting Kansas City have been struggling with injuries for much of the campaign and that remains the case here. They have eight players definitely out with injury and another two rated as questionable and Nemeth is suspended so this is going to be a really patched up SKC side taking to the court. Seattle Sounders have only been beaten once this season and that was against the runaway Western Conference leaders LAFC and their injury situation is much healthier of the two sides.

I can’t be having Sporting Kansas City at odds on here. They are too ravaged by injury. Seattle Sounders are a hard side to beat and I expect them to win this match but at the very worst I don’t see them losing it. Seattle with the Asian handicap is a pretty simple pick here given the absentees SKC have.

Toronto FC vs San Jose Earthquakes (00.30)

The second match of the night comes from BMO Field where the Toronto FC host the San Jose Earthquakes in a match between two sides who have dipped below the play-off line in their respective Conferences over the weekend.

Toronto FC did start the season really well but they are in something of a slump at the minute and look to lack creativity at the best of times so the absence of the technically good Alejandro Pozuelo isn’t going to help them any. They do have Jozy Altidore back here so it will be interesting to see what impact he has, if any. San Jose Earthquakes are on a high after their fine 4-1 win over the Chicago Fire last week but they don’t tend to travel very well so this one is a really easy one to swerve.
