MLS 2019 – Sunday 28th April Matches Betting Preview

A crazy weekend in the MLS ends on Sunday night when four matches take place around the country as the season continues to fire into life. We had the support cast in action over the course of Saturday’s play but the big guns are out to play on Sunday.

Both Conference leaders are on show on Sunday as well as a host of big teams who will be looking for the points themselves. Two of the four matches are live on the various TV channels in the UK with the other two being available on the streams.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK kick off in brackets)

Montreal Impact vs Chicago Fire (17.30)

Minnesota United vs DC United (18.30)

Seattle Sounders vs Los Angeles FC (20.30)

LA Galaxy vs Real Salt Lake (01.00)

Preview

The two TV matches are the second and last games on the evening as Minnesota United take on the Eastern Conference leaders DC United in what should be a pretty attractive game. The other one sees Zlatan Ibrahimovic and his LA Galaxy teammates hosting fellow Western Conference side Real Salt Lake to close out what should be a good night of football.

The football begins in Canada as the Montreal Impact take on the Chicago Fire in an all-Eastern Conference clash in which the three points would be useful to both teams but the match of the night sees what many consider to be the two best sides in MLS at the present time doing battle when the Seattle Sounders go up against the leaders in the West, Los Angeles FC.

Betting

I like a couple of bets over the course of the night with the first of them coming in Minnesota where I expect Minnesota United and DC United to provide plenty of goals. Although it didn’t happen in midweek, Minnesota United matches are always a bit crazy and even then their match with the Galaxy didn’t lack for chances. DC United have a potent attack to take advantage of this leaky defence as well so I’m expecting the goals to flow here. The goal line is three which I’m more than happy to take with two attacking sides on show.

I also expect to see goals in Seattle where the Seattle Sounders and Los Angeles FC meet for the second time in a couple of weeks. LAFC won 4-1 in the reverse fixture and looked unstoppable and there should be a Seattle reaction to that here. I’m a little surprised that the goal line is only three here too because these are high scoring teams. LAFC average a shade under three goals a game and Seattle average more than two per outing. I’ve got to believe this line gets covered.
