Preview

There is no doubt which the biggest match of the four is on Saturday. It is the latest version of ‘El Traffico’ as LAFC host their city rivals LA Galaxy in what is always a very enjoyable game to watch. These two met at the MLS is Back tournament and Galaxy won’t need reminding that LAFC won 6-2. The other match of real interest on the night and on UK TV comes from Mercedes-Benz Stadium where the post-Frank de Boer era begins for Atlanta United when they host Nashville SC.

Orlando City surprised a lot of judges, myself included, when they went all the way to the final of the MLS is Back tournament. They have the chance to show that was no fluke when they go up against David Beckham’s Inter Miami side who could have Blaise Matuidi on the team sheet for the first time. The night of action concludes with a clash from the Western Conference as rivals Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake battle it out.

Betting

Naturally I wanted to get on the goals in the battle of the two Los Angeles sides but at a line of four I can’t justify that at this stage even though history and my gut instinct would suggest that it will cover with a bit to spare. That leads me to the second match of the night for a bet where all eyes will be on Atlanta United when they take on Nashville SC to see whether it was Frank de Boer who were tying the Five Stripes down or not.

I expect to see a better performance from Atlanta in this match than any of the three that we saw from them in the MLS is Back tournament but they are still without Josef Martinez so their goal output is still likely to be affected. Mexico internationals Erick Torres and Jurgen Damm could pep up Atlanta but we’ve seen twice in the last week that Nashville aren’t going to be easy to break down. Atlanta just need to win here while Nashville will probably be content with a draw. Under 2.5 goals is a little too big to me here.
