Big Matches

The best of the matches on Sunday night is the last one to kick off as the Los Angeles clubs go at it when LA Galaxy host Los Angeles FC in what is always one of the iconic fixtures of the MLS season. It is rivalry night in the MLS though so all the games have a competitive edge to them beginning with the first two TV games which sees DC United hosting New York City FC who are in a rich vein of form right now and the New York Red Bulls taking on the Philadelphia Union in what should be a tight tussle between two of the better teams in the Eastern Conference.

Best of the Rest

The other fixture that jumps out on Sunday evening is the one featuring the champions Seattle Sounders and the former winners Portland Timbers in the latest Cascadia Cup battle. There is never any love lost between those two teams. The two new boys meet in Florida when Inter Miami play host to Nashville SC while the table toppers in the Eastern Conference, Columbus Crew host their Ohio rivals FC Cincinnati.

Betting

Although this will be a competitive night of football there is only one bet that I can get involved in and that comes in the last game of the night where LA Galaxy will look to do a pretty quick double over Los Angeles FC having come out on top in ‘El Trafico’ last month. That might only have fanned the flames for LAFC which should make this even more of a box office contest than it was previous to that given the history between these sides.

I wouldn’t normally take a goal line as high as 3.75 but this is a fixture that has a history for igniting early and the goals continuing to flow. Galaxy won 2-0 in the fixture last month but anything that could go wrong for LAFC that day did so. Prior to that, matches between these two saw scores of 6-2, 5-3, 3-3, 3-2 and their first meeting was a 4-3. When these two oppose each other goals tend to come naturally and I see no reason why that won’t continue here. The goal line is high at 3.75 but with good reason.
