Big Matches
The three televised matches start right from the beginning when Atlanta United look to bounce back from their defeat to Orlando City at the weekend when they welcome rock bottom Inter Miami to Georgia. The second televised match sees two teams in the middle of the Eastern Conference going at it as the New England Revolution go up against New York City FC in a big match for both sides. The televised offering concludes with a tantalising clash right at the end of the night when Los Angeles FC host San Jose Earthquakes in a game which should be full of entertaining football.
Best of the Rest
Toronto FC lost on Tuesday which means that Columbus Crew and Philadelphia Union have the chance to move to the top of the Eastern Conference when they meet each other in what is actually the match of the night. The other really appetising contest is the one between the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy which is always a keenly anticipated Western Conference clash. The New York Red Bulls host DC United while over in the West the defending champions Seattle Sounders will look to continue their good form when they travel to Real Salt Lake while two teams full of goals meet in Texas when Houston Dynamo host Minnesota United.
Betting
My focus on Wednesday evening is on goals in two Western Conference matches. The first of those is the one between Houston Dynamo and Minnesota United. Houston are no strangers to high scoring contests and won their last game 5-2 at Sporting Kansas City. Minnesota United haven’t got going since the MLS is Back tournament ended. They have lost their last three matches and suddenly their defence is beginning to leak alarmingly. Houston aren’t exactly watertight themselves so I’m a little surprised that the goal line here is only 3. I like the over in this match.
I’ve mentioned ever since the MLS restarted that San Jose Earthquakes are not built for low scoring matches and they haven’t had one since then. They are not likely to have one when they make the trip to Los Angeles FC on Wednesday night either. LAFC are notorious for scoring goals but they are not averse to conceding them either. The same goes for San Jose whose recent matches have finished 2-3, 1-4 and 5-2. They’ve also had a 2-5 and a 4-3 this term as well. These teams score and concede at will and that should lead to more than 3.5 goals in this one.
