MLS 2021 – Saturday 31st July Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The MLS weekend continues on Saturday evening when another bunch of matches takes place in the leading American league and with soccer higher on the agenda than usual with the States in the Gold Cup final on Sunday, there may well be more interest in these games than usual.

We have four matches live on the TV channels that this division are covered on in the UK but as we continually say there is still the option of watching all the matches on the streaming services that the bookmakers provide.

Big Matches

Three of the four televised matches come from the Eastern Conference on Saturday evening and they begin with the leaders of the Eastern Conference in action when the New England Revolution make the short trip to the New York Red Bulls. The second game sees FC Cincinnati taking on DC United in a match where both sides need to find some consistent form if they are going to make the play-offs. The next live game sees Inter Miami looking to find some form when they host CF Montreal before the only Western Conference clash which sees the Vancouver Whitecaps hosting a Minnesota United side who you sense are about to catch fire.

Best of the Rest

The action actually begins with a non-televised match and it is surprising that it isn’t on show as it has the Western Conference leaders Seattle Sounders taking on the San Jose Earthquakes. The other three matches are all from the West as well as the Houston Dynamo take on Real Salt Lake while Sporting Kansas City meet FC Dallas. The other match sees the newest team into the league in Austin FC hosting the Colorado Rapids with the home side needing a win to come away from the bottom of the table.

Betting

I’m still keeping bets to a minimum in this league until we get all the Gold Cup players back in place and a semblance of normality can come along again but there is one punt which is impossible to ignore over the course of these matches and I’m not going to let it pass by without getting involved. That comes in the game between Sporting Kansas City and FC Dallas in a match I expect the home side to come out on top in.

Sporting Kansas City are undefeated at home this season. I thought they might struggle without Alan Pulido and Gianluca Busio but the opposite has been the case. They come into this match off a fine win at Seattle Sounders last time out and you can win there without them you can win anywhere. FC Dallas had an excellent win last time out but that was on home turf. When they lead the Toyota Stadium things get nasty. They have lost all seven of their away matches this season and the big concern is that in those matches they have only scored a couple of goals. Sporting Kansas City are well supported at home and I expect them to treat their fans to another win here.
