MLS 2021 – Sunday 4th July Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

There are three matches on a Sunday card in Major League Soccer this week as the Western Conference is very much the focus on Independence Day out in the States where we should be in for some decent action.

If you are a night owl in the UK then two of these three matches are live on TV and then the other match is available to watch with the bookmakers who stream the competition so you’ll have plenty to keep you awake!

FC Dallas vs Vancouver Whitecaps (01.30 – Free Sports)

The action begins with the bottom two sides in the Western Conference doing battle when FC Dallas meet the Vancouver Whitecaps in a match where the winners can actually propel themselves into the play-off picture but the losers will leave themselves with a fair bit of work to do.

Clearly this hasn’t been the start to the season that either of these two sides would have wanted but Dallas did at least win last week which will give them a boost going into this one. I’m not going to be too harsh on the Whitecaps this term because it is so hard for the Canadian sides with them not being able to be based at home. You would think they will be there for the taking but their draw with Seattle last week was more encouraging. You can’t really rely on either of these so I’m happy to leave this one alone.

Colorado Rapids vs Seattle Sounders (02.00)

The second match to kick off on Sunday evening comes from Denver where the Colorado Rapids go up against the current Western Conference champions and league leaders Seattle Sounders with three more points up for grabs.

Both these sides are in the middle of positive seasons but they both slipped up last week as international commitments and injuries begin to mount up so it will be interesting to see who comes away from that in the best shape to rebound and go again here. As the home side you would imagine that would be the Colorado Rapids who are on a three game winning streak on their own turf but I’m always reluctant to take on the Sounders. This is another match I can leave alone.

LA Galaxy vs Sporting Kansas City (03.30 – Free Sports)

The final match of the weekend comes from California where the LA Galaxy take on Sporting Kansas City in what is a battle of third against second in the Western Conference so there is plenty of significance on the contest.

The fact that these two are in the top three in the Western table tells us they are both enjoying good seasons. Both have seven wins to their name and are scoring lots of goals but at the same time they have both leaked quite a few too so I’m expecting an entertaining clash to finish the weekend with. What I like about both these teams is that they both play on the front foot and look to create a lot of chances and find the net as often as possible. These two are over machines with nine of the 12 SKC matches having three or more goals and eight of the 10 the Galaxy have played having that many too. I’m expecting to see goals in this one and am happy to be on the over 3 line.
