Preview

The televised action in the UK begins with two sides who have made solid if unspectacular starts to their Eastern Conference campaign when Inter Miami host CF Montreal in what should be a competitive contest. Night owls will then get the chance to watch what might well be the best match of the night as the top two in the Eastern Conference meet when the San Jose Earthquakes play host to the Seattle Sounders in a battle of two form sides.

The other matches begin with the champions Columbus Crew, newly revamped to Columbus SC, heading to the home of Orlando City to take on Toronto FC while the Supporters’ Shield winners Philadelphia Union will host New England Revolution, the team who knocked them out of the play-offs last season. The other two matches come from the Western Conference where the Houston Dynamo take on Sporting Kansas City and Minnesota United will look to get their point tally up and running when they welcome the Vancouver Whitecaps to town.

Betting

We are still relatively early in this campaign and midweek matches tend to be the most difficult to bet on in this league so I’m going to tread carefully on Wednesday evening and take just the one bet over the course of the night. We have to wait a while for it to come around too because it comes in the last match of the evening as the San Jose Earthquakes play host to the Seattle Sounders in a match where nobody will be surprised to know that I am expecting goals.

Those who followed our MLS previews last season will know that the San Jose Earthquakes play an open and expansive game and do not deviate from that for anyone. Seattle Sounders are one of the more attack minded teams in the league as well and although they rate better defensively than the Earthquakes, you wouldn’t say that they are in any way solid in that department. Both teams look to be playing with plenty of confidence so goals should be on the menu in what should be an entertaining clash.
