Big Matches

The televised action begins right from the off where the current leaders of the Eastern Conference, New England Revolution, take on the New York Red Bulls. The next TV match comes straight after as the New York City side host Atlanta United at the Red Bull Arena before the attention moves to the Western Conference where the current leaders Seattle Sounders can keep their lead when they host Real Salt Lake. The entertaining Los Angeles FC conclude the TV action when they play host to FC Dallas at the Banc of California Stadium.

Best of the Rest

There are plenty of other great matches on show on Wednesday evening with the pick of them being the one between the Supporters’ Shield holders Philadelphia Union and the MLS Cup champions Columbus Crew. Over in the Western Conference we have the entertaining Sporting Kansas City meeting the Colorado Rapids while Vancouver Whitecaps will look to show their worth against LA Galaxy. The two stragglers in the Eastern Conference also meet with Chicago Fire hosting FC Cincinnati in a match which could have big implications for the losers.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the night with the first of those coming at Gillette Stadium where New England Revolution can see off the New York Red Bulls. These two met as recently as last month where the Revs ran out 3-1 winners and I think they can win as comfortably again despite the Red Bulls having won their last two matches. They were both at Red Bull Arena where they have been pretty strong but on the road they have lost all three of their matches. New York Red Bulls are missing some key players here and go to a Revolution who have won their last four matches. They look legitimate title contenders do New England and I expect them to showcase that with a win here.

The other bet I like is over 3 goals in the match between Sporting Kansas City and the Colorado Rapids, the teams in second and third in the Western Conference at the beginning of the evening. Sporting KC have racked up some outrageous xG numbers this season and at some point someone is going to take an almighty beating when they convert all of them. The Rapids are no strangers to the back of the net themselves though. They have scored in every match since the season opener and have 12 in their last five. No team has scored more than Sporting Kansas City this season so I’m expecting the goals to flow here.
