Big Matches

The three televised matches all come fairly early in the piece for us in the UK, which for those who have to get up for work on Thursday morning is certainly no bad thing! It begins right from the start of the day where Atlanta United take on Inter Miami in what is a key game between two teams who are chasing the playoff places. Two sides for whom the playoffs are a pipedream meet in the second of the TV games when Toronto FC take on FC Cincinnati in what is a battle of the bottom two in the Eastern Conference. The other televised game sees Colorado Rapids taking on an Austin FC side who had a fine win over LA Galaxy at the weekend.

Best of the Rest

Both Conference leaders are in action on Wednesday evening. In the East, New England Revolution head north of the border to take on CF Montreal while over in the West, Seattle Sounders make the trip to California to take on the San Jose Earthquakes. Other appealing matches sees Nashville SC hosting Orlando City SC in what pits two of the better sides in the Eastern Conference together while Sporting Kansas City will look to move to the top of the Western Conference for a few hours when they go up against FC Dallas. Los Angeles FC host Portland Timbers in what should be another good game.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets over the course of the evening with the first one coming in the goals in the live game between Atlanta United and Inter Miami. After a period where they defended well, Inter Miami have hit the skids again, conceding nine goals in their last two outings and I don’t think they are going to fare much better against an Atlanta United who suddenly look rampant now they have a coach who is allowing the flair players in the side to express themselves and play with freedom, confidence and happiness. Atlanta have won seven of their last nine matches scoring 17 goals in that time. There are enough attacking players in the Inter Miami side to carry a goal threat and they are going to have to fight fire with fire if they are going to get anything out of this match so I like over 3 goals here.

I’ll also take Real Salt Lake to bounce back from their mauling at the hands of Portland Timbers at the weekend when they host a possibly jaded LA Galaxy side. LA Galaxy played fairly late on Sunday evening and now have to back that up with another away game here which is going to be taxing on players playing both games and might lead to a few changes from Greg Vanney. Real Salt Lake are a very good side on their home patch. They have won their last five there and only lost twice all season. After defeat on Sunday, Galaxy are now without a win in seven matches and I expect that to be extended to eight with another loss here.
