Big Matches

The televised action begins right from the off on Saturday evening when the champions New York City FC open the show. They will be looking to arrest a terrible run of form when they head to Charlotte FC who need to sprout wings and fly to make the play-offs in their debut season. When they are done we have a big match in the Western Conference as fourth placed Nashville SC host LA Galaxy who still aren’t in the top seven with matches running out. We then move back to the Eastern Conference for the clash between third placed New York Red Bulls and eighth placed New England Revolution before the TV attention finishes in the Western Conference with Seattle Sounders hosting Austin FC and FC Dallas taking on the leaders Los Angeles FC.

Best of the Rest

Two form sides meet at Subaru Park where Philadelphia Union will be looking to continue their excellent form when they host the US Open Cup champions Orlando City. Portland Timbers will be looking to keep hold of the final play-off spot in the West when they host Minnesota United while it is the last chance saloon for Atlanta United and Toronto FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. FC Cincinnati are pushing hard for a spot in the postseason and will be looking to enhance those claims when they host San Jose Earthquakes while Chicago Fire and Inter Miami will also be desperate for three points when they meet. Real Salt Lake will hope to move three points closer to a play-off spot when they host DC United.

Betting

I’ll go with one bet on the night which comes in one of the marquee matches as Seattle Sounders host Austin FC in a clash between two very good sides. We haven’t actually seen the best of Seattle during the regular season but we are used to them coming alive at this stage of a campaign and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise were that to happen again here. They need to though as their play-off hopes are hanging by a thread.

Austin FC have no problems with regards reaching the postseason but they won’t want to go there in bad form. They also have the chance to lay a marker down to a potential first round opponent in the play-offs. Seattle are usually decent enough on their own patch and they’ll need to find their best form here but they have goals in them which is important here. Nobody has more points on their travels than Austin FC this season and their away games average a shade under three goals each. These two should be good dance partners and I like over 3 goals in this one.
