Big Matches
The televised action on Saturday starts with the opening game to kick off when two Eastern Conference sides battle it out at Red Bull Arena when the New York Red Bulls take on FC Cincinnati who could do with a win to revive their top seven hopes. That comment applies to the New England Revolution in their match with CF Montreal which is the second televised game. The third one sees the two Italian stars’ latest advantage when their Toronto FC team goes to Inter Miami in yet another game which sees the visitors needing to win. That isn’t the case in the final televised match as Los Angeles FC make the short trip to San Jose Earthquakes looking to continue their good form.
Best of the Rest
The other four matches aren’t too shabby either though it has to be said so it could be well worth loading up the bookmaker streams. Wayne Rooney will look to mastermind the beating of the Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Union when his DC United side host them. Elsewhere, Minnesota United host an Austin FC who have been brilliant on their travels this season while Colorado Rapids welcome the Houston Dynamo to Denver. Real Salt Lake host Vancouver Whitecaps in the other match.
Betting
One bet for us over the course of the matches on Saturday evening and it comes in the match at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park where the Colorado Rapids welcome the Houston Dynamo to town. I fear for the visitors a little here. They have won three of their 12 matches on the road this season but they have lost the other nine and they now head to a Colorado Rapids for whom 25 of their 31 points have come inside this very venue. They are a team who are very comfortable at home as you would expect with the altitude advantage.
The Rapids head into this match having won three of their last six matches and they are unbeaten in four at home but it is the form of the Dynamo, or rather the lack of it, which concerns me here. They have lost their last four and now look like they are chasing a lost cause in terms of extending their season. One of those losses for Houston was 6-0 in Philadelphia which shows that when it starts going wrong for them it goes very wrong. Colorado are suddenly scoring goals for fun and should enjoy themselves here.
