Big Matches

The televised action begins with a cross-Conference clash between Minnesota United and Chicago Fire, two sides who currently sit in the top seven of their respective Conferences. When they are done a new era will begin at DC United when they welcome the Supporters’ Shield holders New England Revolution to Audi Field in an Eastern Conference clash where both teams will be looking to inject some life into their season. The last of the TV matches comes from the Western Conference where LA Galaxy will look to continue their strong start to the season when they host a competent Nashville SC outfit.

Best of the Rest

Philadelphia Union suffered a surprise defeat last week and they will look to bounce back in one of the earlier kick offs when they host fellow Eastern Conference side CF Montreal. With Los Angeles FC not in action until Sunday, Austin FC have the chance to hit the top of the Western Conference when they host Vancouver Whitecaps. Staying in the Western Conference there is a Texan derby between FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo while Real Salt Lake head to Portland Timbers for a repeat of the Western Conference final from last season. Columbus Crew will look to end their losing run when they travel to Sporting Kansas City, who have started the season very slowly, while the Colorado Rapids will host the new boys Charlotte FC and San Jose Earthquakes take on Seattle Sounders.

Betting

I think it is fair to say that MLS is not the strongest league when it comes to the form book but Austin FC look rock solid against the Vancouver Whitecaps and as such I’m happy to take them on the -1 Asian line. Austin have looked much improved this season, which is no surprise given the recruitment they did during the winter, particularly on home soil where they are undefeated which has seen them sit second in the Western Conference table heading into this weekend.

Vancouver Whitecaps have come out of the blocks slowly once again with just one win to their name this term so far. On their travels they have lost all four matches and have conceded 11 goals already so they certainly look there for the taking by an Austin side who have a lot of technical ability at the right end of the pitch and as we saw at the beginning of the season when they get on a roll they can be very tough to stop. Any Austin win gets us our money back here but we win in full if they win by a couple of goals or more and the respective home and away records of the two this season suggests there is every chance of that happening.

Tips

Back Austin FC (-1AH) to beat Vancouver Whitecaps for a 3/10 stake at 2.05 with Bet365
