Big Matches

The televised action begins at Soldier Field on Saturday evening when Chicago Fire host Atlanta United in what is an interesting clash given the form of the two sides. When they are done we’ll see the champions on show as New York City FC head to a CF Montreal side who are certainly a dangerous proposition for anyone at the minute. The televised action concludes in the Western Conference where San Jose Earthquakes place host to Real Salt Lake in what should be an entertaining clash.

Best of the Rest

Austin FC have already seen Los Angeles FC pick up three points this weekend and they will look to answer accordingly when they head to Sporting Kansas City, who will be reeling from their exit in the US Open Cup semi-final against second tier opposition in midweek. Philadelphia Union head the way in the Eastern Conference and they will host Houston Dynamo while all eyes will be on Gillette Stadium to see if the Italian revolution can lead Toronto FC to a win at the Supporters’ Shield holders New England Revolution. The action begins in the Western Conference when Minnesota United host Portland Timbers. Other matches of note see Inter Miami hosting FC Cincinnati, FC Dallas taking on Los Angeles Galaxy and Nashville SC hosting Vancouver Whitecaps.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet on Saturday and it comes in the match at Children’s Mercy Park where Sporting Kansas City host Austin FC and I like the visitors to win. They are one of the better away sides in the MLS with nobody having claimed more points on their travels than them this season but they might not need to be that good here because they will be going up against a Sporting Kansas City side who went 120 minutes in midweek and suffered the embarrassment of losing to second tier opposition.

Austin have no such problems. They are in great form, have the top scorer left in the competition and have picked up 13 points from their last five away games. Sporting Kansas City will surely have to rotate some players for this match but their options are a little light due to injuries and suspensions which is one of the reasons why they are on the bottom of the Western Conference. I’m very surprised we can get a decent price on a level ball Asian line here but I’m happy to take it.
