It is the champions who we will see first up on the TV on Wednesday night as New York City FC open up Yankee Stadium once again. They welcome fellow Eastern Conference side Charlotte FC who have fallen out of the top seven with a bad run of form. The second TV match comes from the Western Conference as Vancouver Whitecaps host a Colorado Rapids who begin the night just a place in front of the Canadians.

The other three matches all look great games in their own right. It might be now or never for Atlanta United in their quest to finish in the top seven when they host a New York Red Bulls side whose defence looks to have gone missing in recent weeks. Toronto FC have launched their bid for a spot in the top seven and will look to keep that up when they host the New England Revolution, who themselves sit outside the play-off spots. The other match sees FC Dallas hosting the Eastern Conference leaders Philadelphia Union.

Betting

Nobody will be that surprised that since Lorenzo Insigne has arrived in Toronto the home side have suddenly picked up their form and are scoring goals from all angles. The fact that Federico Bernardeschi arrived with him as only further helped the attacking prowess of Toronto FC and it wouldn’t be a surprise to many if they push for the title with a flourish to end the season. They now go up against New England Revolution who are also chasing a place in the top seven from the outside.

There are goals in the Revolution as well and you would imagine with them dropping out of the top seven now they won’t be able to go to Canada and play for a draw. When you have Gustavo Bou and Carles Gil in your ranks you are not going to lack for chances and goals and given that Toronto are paying much of their salary cap on attacking players it is going to leave them a little light in defence. That all adds up to more than three goals in this one for me.
