Big Matches

There is no doubt where the biggest match takes place on Saturday evening. That is at TQL Stadium where the top two in MLS meet when FC Cincinnati host Inter Miami in contest which could go a long way to deciding where the Supporters’ Shield could end up this season. Real Salt Lake are another team involved in that race and they host Atlanta United while the champions Columbus Crew will look to keep up their special run of form when they welcome Toronto FC to Lower.com Field.

Best of the Rest

There are good matches everywhere we look on Saturday night including two of the Canadian sides battling it out when CF Montreal host Vancouver Whitecaps while Philadelphia Union will look to turn their form around when the highly rated New York Red Bulls are in town. Austin FC don’t lose many matches at home and they welcome New York City FC to Q2 Stadium while Seattle Sounders and New England Revolution close out the show. Before then, DC United welcome Orlando City SC to Audi Field.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets for the Saturday night action with the first of them coming in the match between Orlando City SC and DC United where based on what we have seen recently between these two goals have to be the order of the day. DC United have been doing it tough this week with so many players missing but the player who is back here is Christian Benteke which is a massive boost to them. To be fair to Orlando, they have Pedro Gallese back from the Copa America between the sticks so that is going to help them shore up a bit but they need it because they have shipped 12 goals in their last five matches. DC’s defence has just disintegrated and with five of the last six between these two having had three or more goals I think the over 3 is the way to go here.

The other bet that I like is for Real Salt Lake to cover a -1 Asian line against Atlanta United. I could make the point about home advantage for Real Salt Lake and how Atlanta are doing it tough having been on the road in midweek and again here but that much is pretty obvious. This is the first Atlanta game without Thiago Almada who has been sold and it isn’t that long ago that Giorgos Giakoumakis was sold too so until the transfer window opens in just over a week Atlanta are going to have to do it tough. If that isn’t enough then key defender Stian Gregersen is missing because he has collected too many yellow cards. Real Salt Lake are so tough to beat at home. They have so many goals in them and if Atlanta don’t threaten this RSL defence then they could be in for a very long night. Without Almada pulling the strings this Atlanta side drop off massively so RSL should enjoy a comfortable win here.
