Big Matches

The two standalone early kick offs on Saturday are both in the Western Conference which is quite rare. We get underway for the day with the Seattle Sounders looking to improve on their sixth position when they host FC Dallas who are much lower down the table than they want to be. When they are done we go to the Snapdragon Stadium for the clash between third placed San Diego FC and the champions LA Galaxy who incredibly after 14 matches are still looking for their first win of the season. In the Eastern Conference, the leaders Philadelphia Union are on show when they host an Inter Miami side who are beginning to be questioned from all quarters.

Best of the Rest

The Vancouver Whitecaps are the leaders in the Western Conference and they will look to maintain their advantage at the summit when they travel to take on Real Salt Lake. Minnesota United are second starting the day and they host Austin FC on Saturday evening. Over in the Eastern Conference, the Columbus Crew head away to a Charlotte FC side whose form has completely deserted them while Orlando City SC will be hoping to continue their fine form at home when they host the Portland Timbers. Nashville SC are also riding high in the Eastern Conference table and they go across the border on Saturday evening to take on Toronto FC. There is an intriguing cross-Conference clash between Sporting Kansas City, who aren’t in the best form, and New England Revolution who certainly are. The night concludes at Paypal Park where San Jose Earthquakes host the Houston Dynamo.

Betting

Two bets take my fancy over the course of the evening and we begin at Subaru Park where Philadelphia Union on a draw no bet line interests me when they go up against Inter Miami. Make no mistake about it, Javier Mascherano has problems with this Inter Miami side. They just can’t defend and he can’t seem to find the balance right across the pitch and recently they have been swamped with chances conceded. Miami head to Philadelphia having conceded three or more in four of their last five matches and that certainly doesn’t bode well when they are up against a team with the top scorer in MLS in their ranks. Of course, going the other way Miami have plenty of quality but in half of their away matches this term they have been restricted to one goal or less and you sense that won’t be enough here. The Union are flying at the minute and are the sort of side who would love to pile more misery on Miami here. Take the draw out of play and back them to do it.

We move to Children’s Mercy Park for the second bet of the night where New England Revolution look a solid punt on the same line as Philadelphia. They go and take on Sporting Kansas City with the two sides going in opposite directions. There are no signs of much of a positive sense within the SKC ranks right now whereas after a tough start, where looking at it logically now the fixtures really were against them, the Revolution look to be clicking into gear nicely. They are unbeaten in six and have kept five clean sheets in that time and another clean sheet here would ensure we get our money back on the draw no bet line at the very least. You would have to fancy New England to find a way to score with the likes of Carles Gil pulling the strings for Caleb Porter’s men. SKC have only scored four goals in their last five and with the Revs being tight at the back they look a good thing without the draw in play.
