Big Matches

Saturday is a night where both of the leaders of the two conferences are in action. The first of those is Philadelphia Union and they have a very tricky test away to an in form Nashville SC to negotiate in what looks to be the standout fixture on the night. When they are done the second leg of the leading duo will see San Diego FC playing host to the Houston Dynamo. FC Cincinnati are the other team who could finish top of a table and they play host to the Chicago Fire in another appealing game on the night.

Best of the Rest

That leaves us with seven matches where one of them will contain two teams who will want to go deep in the postseason as Charlotte FC welcome Orlando City SC to town. Two teams who are having shocking seasons also meet at Audi Field as DC United play Atlanta United while CF Montreal will be hoping to cause an upset when they host Inter Miami at Stade Saputo. There are a couple of key Western Conference matches too as Austin FC host Los Angeles FC and Real Salt Lake meet St Louis City SC with the latter match between two sides who need a win to keep feint postseason hopes alive.

Betting

It has been a busy weekend in the MLS already and there is only one that I like over the course of Saturday night and that is for San Diego FC to get the better of the Houston Dynamo. San Diego are in a real rich vein of form at the minute and look like the team to beat. They can win tight matches which they can control but what makes them appeal here is they can score plenty of goals and win games that way too. We saw that in their last three matches which were 4-2, 5-3 and 3-2 wins.

They were all away from home and now they are back at Snapdragon where their record this season is 6-3-1 with 19 goals scored and just seven conceded. Houston ended a run of three straight defeats in their last match but a win over St Louis is questionable form at the minute. They remain without Jack McGlynn, who is the one I think makes them tick in the centre of the park, as he is still with America in the Gold Cup. I expect San Diego to keep their good form up by winning this and doing it by more than a goal.
