MLS Cup Playoffs 2021 – Sunday 28th November Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Two more teams will qualify for the Conference finals in the MLS Cup Playoffs on Sunday night when the semi-finals continue with a clash from each Conference on what should be a very entertaining evening of football.

Both these matches are at a perfectly watchable time on Sunday evening and they are both available in the UK on the two channels that cover the MLS. The playoffs have been good viewing so far and these two matches shouldn’t deviate from that.

Sporting Kansas City vs Real Salt Lake (20.00 – Sky Football & Free Sports)

The opening match of the night will determine who faces the Portland Timbers in the Western Conference final next weekend when the third seeds Sporting Kansas City play host to the last team into the playoffs in Real Salt Lake.

Salt Lake have already been to Seattle and won in the playoffs when they parked the bus and came away with a win via a penalty shootout. Kansas City had a much easier time of it in their first round game when they were too good for the Vancouver Whitecaps but I sense they’ll need a little bit more here. These two met on this ground in the final regular season match which Real Salt Lake had to win and did so in the final minute of the contest. I don’t think there is anything special about Sporting Kansas City so unless Alan Pulido returns and does something special for them I think Real Salt Lake will always be in the game here and can force extra time if not shock the home side.

Philadelphia Union vs Nashville SC (22.30 – Sky Football & Free Sports)

The second match of the night comes from the Western Conference where the second seeds Philadelphia Union host the third seeds Nashville SC in a clash which will either be very entertaining or ultra-tight.

My suspicion is it will be the latter but there are enough playmakers and goalscorers on the pitch from these two to turn it into one of those frenzied playoff matches that this competition brings. I always think Philadelphia Union are tough to beat at home but Nashville showed last season that they can go on the road and win in the playoffs and they are a better side this year. This is probably one to sit and watch anyway but when you consider I’m on the visitors outright it definitely is that for me here.
