MLS Cup Playoffs 2025 – Conference Finals Tips and Betting Preview

We are down to the Conference finals in the MLS Cup Playoffs with both matches being played out on Saturday night as we find out which two teams will compete for the title in the MLS Cup Final a week from now.

Both matches are live on Apple TV via the MLS Season Pass with full build-ups to each of them. If you don’t have the Season Pass then you will be able to watch both games on the bookmaker livestreams although you’ll need to be a night owl.

Inter Miami vs New York City FC (23.00)

We begin the night with the Eastern Conference final where Inter Miami will be favoured to make it through to an MLS Cup Final which they know they will host should they win this match. In order to get there they need to overcome the challenge of New York City FC.

New York City have won in Charlotte and in Philadelphia in this playoff series so far and while this will be their toughest test, they will fancy their chances on the counter in this match, especially if Alonso Martinez is fit after an injury picked up on international duty meant he missed the win in Philadelphia last week. Miami went to Cincinnati last week and did a real job on them and they look to be finding another gear at just the right time with everything going through Lionel Messi but with Miami having legs either side of him to create space for him to be devastating. You would expect NYCFC to shut down that space but Messi is so good it is hard to think that he will be kept quiet for 90 minutes and that can be the difference and lead to a Miami win. They are plenty short enough but good to use as the first leg of a double on the night.

San Diego FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps (02.00)

Once the Eastern Conference title is won it will be time for the Western Conference winners to be sorted out and we head to Snapdragon Stadium to find out whether it will be San Diego FC or the Vancouver Whitecaps who will compete in the MLS Cup Final.

It would be quite something were San Diego FC to get there considering this is their first season in MLS but they are plenty good enough to do it having come through the draw so far with arguably their best player on paper having had little involvement in Chucky Luzano. He could start here and that would make for a firecracker affair with him on one side, Anders Dreyer on the other side and then the other team has Thomas Mueller. Both these teams should get the game they want here. San Diego are happy to soak up pressure and pounce on the counter while Vancouver love to dominate the ball and it will be interesting to see which style comes out on top here. I wouldn’t be surprised if this needs extra time and perhaps even penalties before we find out who progresses from this tie. Both teams scored in both regular season meetings and I expect that to land again here so add that to Miami for a 5/4 double.
