The final match of a busy Sunday in the NFL comes from California where the NFC leading Los Angeles Rams play host to the side who won the Super Bowl last year in the Philadelphia Eagles in the Sunday Night Football.
It isn’t always the case when we get to this stage of the season that we get a clash which is huge for both sides but this one very much is. The Rams are looking for victory to keep themselves in the chase for the number one seed in the Conference while Philadelphia have to win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams have been one of the teams of the season so far but they arrive into this match off the back of a defeat to the Chicago Bears last week which has brought the New Orleans Saints back into the number one seed picture. Los Angeles can play with an ounce of freedom in that they know they have won the division but having that home field advantage throughout the postseason is sure to be a massive pull for them.
Los Angeles have been something of an offensive powerhouse throughout the campaign but if you were to pick a fault with them, and that would be quite harsh in fairness given the season they have had, it would be with their secondary who have surrendered too many big plays. The Rams are picking up one or two offensive injuries which might become a concern as well.
Philadelphia Eagles
It is do or die time for the Philadelphia Eagles now but they have been here before last year and survived to tell the tale. Ironically another shade of that wonderful campaign last term was the form of Nick Foles when he came in for Carson Wentz who was injured and the same thing is about to happen here with a fractured back keeping Wentz out of this match to give the Super Bowl MVP Foles another chance.
Just getting the chance to play again should be motivation enough for Foles but to play against his former side is likely to give extra significance to this match for him. He will look to bring the Eagles offense to life once again and if he can do that and hand it over to the injury ravaged Philly defence to do their job they might yet come out of this with a key victory.

Betting
I think we are going to see a high scoring game here. Both teams will be eager to win which might allow for both sides taking a few more risks should they fall behind. Philadelphia are being crippled by injuries in their defence which an offense like Los Angeles Rams should be able to feast on but I’m far from convinced the scoring will be in one direction.
We saw the Eagles offense come to life under Foles last season and he should be able to get enough of a tune out of the likes of Zach Ertz and Alshon Jeffrey to get the champions down the field and threaten points. This feels like a high scoring night and as such I’m happy to be on over 51.5pts in this encounter.
