The fifth Sunday in the NFL season ends with the Sunday Night Football which this week sees two NFC giants going at it when the 1-3 Minnesota Vikings take on the undefeated Seattle Seahawks in what should be a cracking end to a great day in the league.
Minnesota will have seen what Green Bay and Chicago have done this season already and will know they have to win this match if they are to put any serious challenge up for the NFC North title. Seattle Seahawks are just looking to keep their unbeaten start going for as long as possible.
Seattle Seahawks
One of the best offenses in the league so far this season have been the Seattle Seahawks’ one which has been controlled by the brilliance of Russell Wilson who even this early in the campaign is an MVP candidate. He has found a couple of tasty weapons and his arm accuracy has been superb and when you add his legs to that there is a real force of nature in Seattle at the minute. That is shown that the Seahawks have put up more than 30 points in all four of their matches.
While it is a little bit of an anomaly because they have played some potent offenses, statistically the Seattle defence ranks the in the league right now. If they are going to come out on top in what many are rightly suggesting is the best division in football then they are going to need to make a lot more plays on defence. We know 2020 is a strange year because usually there are question marks about the offense as a whole while the defence plays lights out football!

Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings started the season with three successive losses, conceding at least 28pts in all of those matches and it will not need a brain surgeon to work out where the improvement needed to come if they were going to get up and running. That was on defence and to their credit they were better on that side of the ball in a win over the Houston Texans last week. That is going to be tested once again here though and it will be interesting to see whether it holds up.
The one positive that they have got going for them despite being 1-3 for the season is that their offense hasn’t really been shackled very often. Only the Indianapolis Colts have kept them to below 30 points this season and they are probably the best defence in football at the minute. Kirk Cousins is finding plenty of receivers this term and in Dalvin Cook the Vikings have one of the best runners in the league so there is a decent balance to the offense.
Betting
I’m expecting to see plenty of points in this match. Neither defence has shown an ability to restrict their opposition both in yardage and in points and as a result they both go into this match ranked in the worst five in the league on that side of the ball. We know full well how good both these offenses are and I would argue that the Seahawks offense is much improved this season. When you think they won 37-30 when these two sides met last year the logical move would be to expect the points to flow once again.
Both these quarterbacks can find a deep threat and drives are likely to move quite quickly between these two, especially with both defences there to be picked off so the 54.5 point line is more than achievable here. Both offenses have gone well under pressure this season so every box is ticked in terms of the over landing. I’m expecting to see more than the 54.5 points that are required for the over here.
