NFL 2021 – Week 7 Sunday Early Games Tips and Betting Preview

Week 7 of the NFL season began in fairly entertaining fashion on Thursday evening and it continues on Sunday with the usual two early slots of kick offs on a night where a number of teams will be looking to find some form as we head towards the halfway mark of the campaign.

The usual Sunday drill applies with a couple of TV matches for us to enjoy throughout the evening while those who want to see all the scoring plays from all the matches have that option on the Red Zone programme. Bookmaker streams will show most of the matches too.

1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)

The televised match for us in the UK to enjoy in this early kick off slot comes from the AFC North where the Baltimore Ravens play host to the Cincinnati Bengals in a match where top spot in the division is on the line. In among the five other matches in this first kick off slot we have one other divisional clash to look forward to when the New England Patriots take on the New York Jets who look a bit of a mess right now in a key AFC East clash for both teams.

Four other matches take place in the first kick off slot on Sunday. The Green Bay Packers are the biggest team on show and they will be expected to dominate when the Washington Football Team are the visitors to Lambeau Field. Two sides whose last outing was in London meet in another of the games when the Miami Dolphins welcome the Atlanta Falcons to Hard Rock Stadium. In the other two matches the New York Giants take on the Carolina Panthers and the Tennessee Titans take on the Kansas City Chiefs.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)

The televised match in the later slot sees the champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers back in the spotlight. They will be looking to continue their decent title defence when they host the Chicago Bears and their first round draft pick Justin Fields. That comes in the later of the two late start times with the other one at 9.25 being the one between the undefeated Arizona Cardinals, who will be expected to completely dominate the Houston Texans who JJ Watt will be opposing for the first time.

There are two other matches over the course of the evening with one of them coming from the host venue of the Super Bowl as SoFi Stadium hosts the clash of the quarterbacks opposing their former teams when Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams takes on the Detroit Lions and Jared Goff. The other game sees the Las Vegas Raiders looking to continue their fine season despite everything that has gone on off the pitch when they host the Philadelphia Eagles.

Betting

Two home teams stand out to me over the earlier games in this kick off slot with the first of those being the New England Patriots when they entertain the New York Jets. While the Jets have had the bye week to prepare for this match. They certainly needed it because with the exception of feasting on a Tennessee Titans defence that is bang average, they have been very ordinary this season with Zach Wilson finding the step up to this level a little on the tough side. He isn’t going to find things much easier against a Bill Belichick defence which has already done a job on him this season and can keep him shackled here. The Patriots have been guilty of not finishing matches off at times this season but they shouldn’t need to worry about that here. I think they are at least a touchdown better than the Jets.

Another team who I expect to dominate on their own patch this week are the Green Bay Packers. They host the Washington Football Team who look in a bit of disarray at the minute. Usually you would kind of rely on the Washington defence to make enough plays to keep this one close but they have been incredibly weak on that side of the ball this season. Green Bay needed a week to blow off the cobwebs this term but they are undefeated since then and getting better all the time. Rodgers never needs an invitation to show off in front of the Lambeau crowd and I expect the Packers to get ahead early here and for the pressure to keep up to be too much for Taylor Heinecke and the Washington offense. Packers can win this by at least eight.
