When the action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium concludes the rest of the Week 5 early games on another Sunday in the NFL 2023 season will be played out as the campaign begins to pick up speed as we move into the second quarter of it.
The Sunday schedule in these sets of matches are the same as always with two of them live on the TV for us in the UK to enjoy while Red Zone has the best bits of all the games. Certain bookmakers will show the non-TV games too.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
We head to the Hard Rock Stadium for the TV game in the first slot of matches as the 3-1 Miami Dolphins take on a 1-3 New York Giants who are under a bit of pressure to get up to speed here. Five other matches take place in the first slot of games with two others from the same division. In the AFC North the Baltimore Ravens host their fierce rivals Pittsburgh Steelers while in the AFC South we have the Indianapolis Colts meeting the Tennessee Titans.
That all leaves us with three other games in the first part of the action. The Detroit Lions have the best record of the six teams in action and they will look to enhance their 3-1 ledger when they play host to a Carolina Panthers who are yet to win this season. New Orleans Saints have seen their season hit the buffers and they will look to get it back on track when they head to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Patriots. The other match sees the Atlanta Falcons hosting the Houston Texans.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
Four matches are saved for the second part of the day with the TV game coming from SoFi Stadium where the Los Angeles Rams will look to be the first team to beat the Philadelphia Eagles this season. The Rams know they have to keep winning to keep pace in the NFC West while Philly are looking very good as they look to back up their run to the Super Bowl last season. At 2-2 this feels like a huge game in the Rams’ season.
The other three games all have intrigue in them in their own right. The pick of them probably comes from Minnesota where the Minnesota Vikings and their powerful offense will look to fight fire with fire when they host the champions Kansas City Chiefs. The other two games are the battles of 1-3 seasons with Arizona Cardinals welcoming the Cincinnati Bengals to the desert and the Denver Broncos taking on the New York Jets in Colorado.
Betting
A player prop did us good in these matches last week and that is going to be my focus of attention this week too with the man in question being the Philadelphia Eagles’ running back D’Andre Swift who has a very low rushing yards line at just 64. The Los Angeles Rams are currently conceding an average of 111 rushing yards per match and with the Eagles being around a four point favourite on the road you would imagine running the ball will be a key weapon for them here.
Swift only had 13 carries against Washington last week but prior to that he ran all over Minnesota and Tampa Bay and I’ve got to think he gets more than 13 carries on the road to a dangerous opponent, especially if the Eagles do get themselves out in front. With the Rams struggling to stop the run and Swift as powerful a runner as there is in the league at present, gaining plenty of yards once he breaks the line. I expect Swift to carry for plenty more than 64 yards here.
