As always in the NFL 2024 season, the majority of the Week 4 matches come along in the Sunday early slates of games where we have another 12 matches taking place as the divisions and overall picture begins to take a clearer shape.
It is a typical Sunday in the UK this week as we prepare for the opening London game next week. We have two live TV games to enjoy and all the big plays are available to see on the RedZone coverage. Certain bookmakers stream the non-live games too.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The TV game for us in the UK in the first set of games on Sunday comes from the NFC North as the Green Bay Packers welcome the Minnesota Vikings to Lambeau Field for what already feels like a big game in a division which is looking very competitive this term. Among the other seven matches we have two divisional games with the New Orleans Saints looking to extend their lead in the NFC South when they head to the Atlanta Falcons while over in the AFC South the Houston Texans look to kick clear when they welcome a winless Jacksonville Jaguars to Texas.
The pick of the other five matches probably comes from Florida where the Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to bounce back from a really poor loss at the Denver Broncos last week when they entertain the Philadelphia Eagles. The Broncos are also in action in the earlier part of the day. They make the trip to the New York Jets. Pittsburgh Steelers have started the season 3-0 and they make the trip to the Indianapolis Colts while the other two matches see the Carolina Panthers hosting the Cincinnati Bengals and Chicago Bears welcoming the Los Angeles Rams to Soldier Field.

4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
We have a division match to enjoy in the second part of the day as well with the attention turning to the AFC West where two teams with winning records meet at SoFi Stadium as the Los Angeles Chargers play host to the unbeaten champions Kansas City Chiefs. The Chargers are 2-1 for their season and will go above the Chiefs to the top of the division with a win but a defeat would see them fall two games behind which even this early in the season would feel significant.
Three other matches take place in the later slate of games with a huge historical battle in one of them as arguably the two most famous franchises of recent times meet at Levi’s Stadium where the San Francisco 49ers welcome the New England Patriots. Two struggling teams meet at Allegiant Stadium as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Cleveland Browns while the other match comes from the desert where the Arizona Cardinals will welcome the Washington Commanders who will be buzzing from their Monday night win.
Betting
The late game on the TV in the UK was always going to be a high profile one because Jim Harbaugh was brought in to basically install a defence at the Los Angeles Chargers that could stop the domination of the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC West. I suspect that wasn’t expected to happen overnight but we’ll find out on Sunday how progress is being made in that regard when the two sides meet in Los Angeles, with the bolts potentially getting the champions at the right time.
If you were being honest, the Kansas City Chiefs offense hasn’t really fired to the full since Tyreeq Hill departed for Miami and with Isaiah Pacheco done for the year and Kareem Hunt still getting up to speed it would be a surprise if it fires on all cylinders here. The Chiefs are 3-0 for the season but those wins have been by seven, one and five points and while the Chiefs have won the last five in Los Angeles they have won by seven, overtime twice, three and one point. This isn’t a game the Chiefs tend to blow the bolts away in and with the improved Chargers defence and a stuttering Chiefs offense I’m not sure Kansas City win this by more than seven points. I like the Chargers with a 7.5 start.
