We have another double header of Monday Night Football action in the NFL 2025 season and it gets underway at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium when the Atlanta Falcons welcome the Buffalo Bills to their part of Georgia.
The Falcons have shown signs of life in the last few weeks and will be looking to use home advantage for a third win in the season while Buffalo will be out to bounce back from a first defeat of the campaign last week.
Atlanta Falcons
The Atlanta Falcons go into the night off the back of their bye week and will resume their season 2-2 for the year so a victory here will have them in front on their ledger and ready to kick on and try to hunt down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC South, or position themselves nicely for a wildcard spot should they not be able to reel in their division rivals. Given who they would be beating, such a victory would lay down a bit of a marker for the season and certainly enhance confidence in the camp.
The two Falcons wins were over the Minnesota Vikings and the Washington Commanders and they are not bad results by any stretch of the imagination. The concern would be the wipeout job that they suffered against Carolina Panthers but they have had a couple of weeks to have addressed that. We are probably going to find out about the Falcons’ defence here. It leads the league in yards allowed but they are going to face a real test from the MVP of the league and a genuinely potent offense here.

Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills made a strong start to their season but they came up short against the New England Patriots last week and so they will be looking to get back to winning ways here. Prior to that, they had won four on the spin with the eye catching win at the time against the Baltimore Ravens in their opening match. The form of that hasn’t really worked out how it would have been expected to, and the other three wins were ones you would expect them to get so off the back of last week there are questions for the Bills to answer.
The first one will be whether the Bills’ offense can impose themselves on a defence which is starving opposition players of yardage. If they can do that then their rush defence will be the next thing which needs to stand up against one of the leading running backs in the league. The Bills will be expected to kick on and be one of the better teams in the AFC this season and this presents the chance to show that they can deal with adversity and get a win in a tricky road game.
Betting
This is a bit of a tricky match to bet on with the Atlanta Falcons having had their bye last week and the Buffalo Bills suffering a defeat in that previous outing. If the line was 3 on the spread it might be a little easier but the 3.5 clouds things a little bit. I’m reluctant to get too involved either way so I’m going to head to the player markets for a bet where the rushing yards line of Bijan Robinson looks to be the way to go for me.
If you shop around you can get a 72.5 yard line and when you consider in the last three matches he has reached totals of 143, 72 and 75 you would think that he will be in and around this line naturally. Then when you figure that Buffalo struggle to tackle running backs, as evidenced by the fact that they offer up the third highest yards after contact per carry in the NFL, the vibrant running back should burst off a couple of big plays and from there just ticking over should get him to where he can cover this line.
